This is our 3rd scooter. The first was wonderful, but was too slow for my husband's taste. Second, we got a motor scooter that needs a license plate, and drives on the roads at 45 mph; and that was too fast. This scooter is perfect! It comfortably goes about 20 mph, but you have complete control over the speed with the speed dial and the brakes. We always drive it at 50% on the speed dial. It is comfortable, easy to drive, and has ample storage (storage under the seat, and a large basket on the back with a lid that snaps closed.) The EW36 Elite came fully assembled. The little rear stability wheels caught on the palette when we were trying to roll the scooter off the shipping palette, so a piece of plywood or other board is needed when you go to roll the scooter off the palette. Then you attach the rear view mirrors, and go! The scooter came fully charged, so there was no waiting. This scooter does not come apart for transport; but we have found that we are not interested in transporting it. My husband just drives where he wants to go, and we live within a half mile of several small shopping plazas, so there are things to do. We are planning a little longer trip out to the State Park. The description on Amazon says it comes with a weatherproof cover; but we didn't get that. The salesman from the company spoke with us several times on the phone before the scooter arrived, so there was good communication there. I understand that the difference between the EW36 and the EW36 Elite is that the Elite has electromagnetic brakes that stop the scooter immediately if you let go of the accelerator, which is a really nice safety feature. It is snazzy looking, comfortable, goes fast enough, is quiet, and the headlight and turn signals work well. The turn signals have an annoying beeping sound when used, but that is a safety feature. The EWHEELS (E-36) ELITE is one of the best mobility scooters on the market. Since I've purchased the scooter I am able to attend more events comfortably than I previously could. I recieve more compliments regarding the aesthetics of the scooter. The height of the scooter allows you to be seen in crowded areas and without you face in someone's behind. This scooter is perfect to take to motorcycle rallys, the mall, amusement parks, parks, atheletic events, graduations, elevators, restaurants, etc. In restaurants I always ask if there is a wall or a place that I can park it so, that others are not inconvieneced. I love that the seat adjustes forward and backwards and that the back of the seat does recline and it maneuvers well into any restroom. The keyfob remote is a hoot and the alarm system is spot on. Do know that, it is NOT RETRACTABLE and that you will need a 61" carrier for your vehicle to transport. Be sure It does have FORWARD/REVERSE because some of the older models did not have that feature. You WILL NOT NEED A LICENSE to operate because it is a ELECTRIC MOBILITY SCOOTER. Traveling with the scooter should not be a problems, if asked about the size or weight just tell them it weighs 225lbs. so, that they can make whatever adjustments they need to make in advance.     • scooter does not work anymore after 3 months use a paperweight... expensive and heavy.G! DUMPSTER
The motor makes a noise like it's running and the speedometer goes up, but the scooter does not move. Calling the company who manufactures it . All they cover is the cost of the parts, no labor or service coverage. You pay for that even if the scooter is only a month old! !!!! Stay away!! according to the company, no repairman in the area (Modesto, CA) !!!.... gave me a number to call for nationwide service 1-888-3095 who works on all makes and models!!!! Ridiculous.... ZERO STARS!!! I URGE you.... do not buy ANY e-wheels scooter. No one will work on them or repair them.... big paperweight!!! I am trashing this and calling it a loss !! By the way, the number above does not work because 888 is an area code!!! I have made several attempts to reach the company 1-888-364-3813... but they have failed to return my call. Again.... STAY AWAY!!! AMAZON.... you should drop them as a seller.... they appear to be crooks! ... show more

    • Great looking with a comfortable seat and fun to operate.
This scooter came well packaged, attached to a pallet, no assembly required and no damage from shipment. It did take some effort to get it off the pallet. It is a very beautiful scooter and we are overall very pleased. A simple dark photo copied sheet was included to explain the need to access the under seat compartment and switch the circuit breaker on before use. We had to call Top Mobility to learn how to move the seat fully forward and use the ignition key to open this compartment. Once opened, we found the instruction booklet inside. It would be nice if this hadn't been locked in the compartment, we wouldn't have had to call an agent. It took longer to receive the scooter than we were told but with free shipping, we can't complain! A very nice, well made heavy cover came by different shipment and included a handy bag for attaching to the scooter. I would recommend Top Mobility for your scooter needs. ... show more

I have been using the scooter for a couple of weeks and really enjoy it. The Electromagnetic Brakes do take some getting use to because they are rather jerky. The speedometer is not accurate. It will be reading 25 mph but I am really only going about 15 mph. I did get it up to 23 mph when going down a hill and was paced by a car. No matter how fast it is actually going, it is fast enough for normal use around town...especially if you have to use the sidewalk. I have called Top Mobility support a couple of times and they have been very helpful and answer quickly. I was sad that it is not more water proofed as sometimes you do get caught in the rain. The backup sound is very loud. I have used Google Maps bicycle and it was right on with the time it took me to travel 5 miles to a location. I did get the Elite and the cover for it is excellent, the phone holder works well, and the arm rest bag is very useful....especially since the front locked compartment is not really very useful....I just keep a rag in it. The bottle holder is not very good for the arm rest, so I Velcroed it to the lower left hand front panel....that is working well. ... show more
