After intensive research and comparison wr finally gifted our mom this wheelchair. Arthritis has slowly been limiting her abilities and we wanted to give her some power back. This mobility scooter turns corners sharply and effortlessly. It's spacious get compact to store. It breaks down fairly easy to fit in the trunk. I would like to share that if the handle is unlocked the scooter will not move and you will hear the annoying honk. (Which I'm actually glad is annoying so attention is placed on the user when in need) Also if you go over bumps a little fast the safety mechanism causes the scooter to stop. Mobility Scooter arrived on time. Assembly was not difficult. Charged overnight. Does not work. I called the company for support and tge firs question they asked was can you move the Scooter manually when in drive. My answer was yes. They told me it needed to be returned immediately. Huge ordeal to get it back to UPS . I don't have a printer so I was charged for the label plus charged for them to box it. It was not possible for me to box it and transport it to UPS boxed due to its weight. Hopefully the replacement will work. Update New Scooter arrived and works great. To be able to get outside and "run around" gave such a boost to my invalid husband's morale. Easy to get into and out of, comfortable, easy to operate. His oxygen tank fits well into the basket, along with his phone and extras. Easy to put together. It should emphasize that it must be thoroughly charged before trying to use--we originally thought something was wrong when all alarms were going off and no troubleshooting seemed to work. We love this scooter, its seems well made and easy to load and unload (a little heavy so it does have to be broken down and not suitable for many elderly to do alone). It maneuvers well in tight spaces. Not really made for a large person but great for your average person under 6ft and under 200 lbs, for instance. once complaint, we can not find any brakes and it just rolls down inclines when you want it to stop, say at sidewalk cross walks when you are waiting for the WALK sign to light. We bought this scooter as a gift for my brother. who lives in NYC, while we live in Florida. He has been gradually losing mobility for the past several years to the point where now, at not quite age 65, he can’t safely navigate out onto the street with his rollater walker in his be neighborhood. He was excited about the prospect of new mobility, so when the scooter came with a brake defect—it was so disappointing!!! (Hence the four stars on my original rating.) However, my sister-in-law contacted the company and supplied a video of the problem. Vive arranged for them to return the original scooter and then shipped a new one fairly quickly. The new one arrived yesterday. They charged it up overnight and my brother is thrilled!!! They’ve been exploring all morning. He finally has his independence back! For his privacy, I blocked out his face in the photo, but if you could see it, his expression is so happy!!! Makes a big sister feel wonderful!! The scooter is easy-to-use, maneuverable, compact, sturdy, and pretty fast, too! Update: ZERO STARS!!! The second day my brother took out the replacement scooter, all excited and happy, it suddenly stopped working for no apparent reason!!! The battery was fully charged, the weather was clear, the pavement was level, but my brother and SIL were STRANDED two blocks from their apartment! My 60-something SIL had to PUSH my brother on the scooter all the way back to their building!!! We don’t want another replacement — just a refund. Amazon has assured me that they’ll refund the price if Vive doesn’t, and I’ve already ordered the Pride Go-Go S-74 as a substitute for my brother. This is a game changer for me. It's my "legs" .... I'm 51 & have been fighting a terminal lung disease for 3 years. My legs are just fine, but it's impossible for me to walk more than a few steps without giving out & severe oxygen drops. I haven't been able to play with my grandchildren, outside, for the last 2 years. That's changed 😊! My Vive is no wimp! It goes across my property with zero problem. Haven't felt like it's going to tip over. Feels sturdy & solid. I've used it consistently for 4 hours (at the most) and the battery held charge. It's a BIG deal to be able to play with my grandbabies! AND I can go other places without depending on someone pushing me! I do need to order the oxygen tank holder. Saving $ up for that 😊. For now, I hold my O2 tank between my knees lol Let me tell you about the seller.... Their customer service is top notch! Very friendly and understanding. At first I thought the battery wasn't holding a charge due to a blemish. They were ready to replace the cover and the battery. They, also, sent trouble shooting instructions. After trying their suggestions.... The battery not only holds the battery, it went for FOUR hours and could have gone even longer! This is such a blessing in my life! I'm, also, thankful I chose to buy it through VIVE because of their excellent customer service. If you're wondering if anyone asked me to write this review, the answer is, No. It's made such a positive difference in my life, I don't feel and not left out of so much I've missed these last few years. I recommend this to anyone with low to no mobility!
