Top Amazon Reviews

🚀 Abunda's Overview

This is our summary and key points to consider based on customer reviews.

The electric scooter has garnered mixed reviews but leans towards the positive side, with users praising its fast shipping, easy assembly, and overall contribution to a better quality of life. It offers excellent mobility assistance, allowing people to engage more in outdoor activities with family. However, there are a few downsides noted such as difficulty with off-road terrain, a poor turning radius, and safety concerns over stability and the potential for tipping on uneven surfaces.

Pros

  • 🚚 Fast shipping and easy assembling process
  • 👨‍👩‍👧‍👦 Enhances quality of life by enabling more outdoor family time
  • 🔋 Efficient battery life for extended rides
  • 💪 Suitable for users up to 300 pounds and works well on inclines
  • 🚗 Portable, with some models easily fitting into an SUV for transport

Cons

  • ⚠️ Struggles with off-road terrain and has safety concerns over tipping
  • ↩️ Poor turning radius restricts maneuverability
  • ⚖️ Some find it too heavy to lift, despite being marketed as portable
  • 🛠️ Issues with front-wheel alignment and stability, especially on uneven surfaces

Should I Buy It?

If your primary need is for an electric scooter that offers enhanced mobility for everyday activities on predominantly flat and paved surfaces, this could be a great option. It's particularly beneficial for those looking to spend more outdoor time with family and require a sturdy, albeit slightly heavy, scooter that can handle inclines well. However, if you anticipate frequent off-road adventures or need a scooter with a tight turning radius, it might not meet your expectations. Assess your specific needs and weigh them against the scooter’s limitations before purchasing.

  • The cart is beautiful but way to heavy for a senior with disabilities .
If you don't have to load or unload it is a great cart.

  • Too dangerous to ride on inclines
After having several lead-acid batteries poop out for me aftter climbing hilly streets and our 8 degree drive way, this scooter seemed to be the answer with its range and power. It has lots of that. BUT it is too dangerous for handicapped people to use. While the specifications state that it has electromagnetic brakes, I soon learn that mine didn't have electromagnetic brakes - only one hand brake on the tiller. This makes it too dangerous when going down an incline. I also bought it because it hag a rear basket but the basket is not easily removable since it is bolted to the frame which makes it harder to load into the trunk of a car. The one I was shipped had a broken horn button and also the reverse control did not work when I was on a slope. When I was in reverse, and wanted to go forward, it would not switch from reverse to forward, even though it worked fine on level ground. I contacted the seller and they wanted to ship new parts for me to install but I am not able to do that so they suggested I drive a 100 miles to their shops to get it repaired. But because I considered it too dangerous, I opted to return it. At first, they wanted to charge me for the return shipping but after I pointed out that the Amazon policy was that the seller pay for the return shipping, they sent me the shipping label and arranged for the shipping. However, they charged me a restocking fee even though before the scooter could be resold, it required repairs. Also, I was not impressed with the controls on the tiller. They resembled controls on a motorcycle rather than controls on a scooter made for handicapped people. ... show more

  • Power to climb
I am 6’2” and weigh 260 pounds. I have bought eBikes and have been disappointed because they have very little torque to climb. I am very pleased by the ability of this scooter to climb. Most handicapped ramps are 12 degrees or less, and this scooter is designed for that purpose. I have used it on much higher grades without a problem. A negative is the alignment of the front wheels. That can be corrected by loosening the nuts on the tie rods and making an adjustment. The folding design makes the rear wheels very close together making it feel unstable, so the scooter is best used on level surfaces. The design is also very rear heavy. If you move the seat back, put the speed on high, and give it full throttle you could wind up popping a wheelie. I lean forward whenever going up an incline. Overall, I’m very pleased with the scooter. ... show more

  • Great, but very poor turn radius
The shipping was very fast, and I was very pleased. It was very easy to assemble for my husband. I can’t lift heavy things but 60 pounds is really not that bad for my husband so he sets it up for me easily. I took it on a ride yesterday and it was great. I wasn’t able to walk far but this is, allowing me to have a far greater quality of life with spending time with my own little kids. I’m really glad I made the jump to get an electric scooter is worth all my money. It is hard for the scooter to go off-road, and with ridges and over ridges , but if you are on a flat surface like gravel or a paved road, it should be no problem. I probably went at least three or 4 miles yesterday and one battery bar was consumed. I would say that it is a very poor, turning radius, that is probably it’s Only flaw, but I don’t know what the turning radius is like with other electric scooters, but it is far more powerful than the grocery store, electric scooters even if the grocery store electric scooters have a really great turning radius. I would much have the power so I can go on hikes with my kids outdoors . It helps when you’re going up an incline period to have the higher power setting. ... show more

  • Too heavy, hard to maneuver
If I could I'd return this. It's hard to maneuver, doesn't turn for crap, hard to put together, and it's so heavy I have to ask for help to load it. Don't get it!!!

  • Too much to turn
I like this scooter, but, it is very heavy so you need to be either strong or you need to have a carrier on the back of your car. It does fit in the back of my kia soul, but I will have to put that carrier on my car. I can not lift it. The other problems I have are when I turn, I feel like I may fall off. Also it is a very wide turn so if you are going into a place, you need to make sure you have clearance. ... show more

  • Best mobility scooter ever
I needed something to go to the mall with and to use on vacations as well. I've studied mobility scooters for some time and this is the one I finally chose. I have to be able to pick up 68 pounds to get it in the back of our SUV. I can do that. But, I have also devised a way to put the front wheels into the back of the SUV and then lift the back end up into the SUV. Of course that is after I have put the back of the seat down and maneuvered the handle bars down too. It's easier than it sounds. I love this scooter. ... show more

  • 0/5 STARS JUNK
0/5 STARS! !!!DON'T DO IT!!!! Rubicon scooter arrived, NOT a Darkshadows by MaritSA scooter. It came with two wrenches and a manual (NOT in English). No bolts or screws. 1. Someone before me had screwed the keys onto the pieces that hold the handle bar on and then stripped the screws. (You could see in my pictures they also had inserted the keys before locking them on) 2. No screws or bolts to hold either basket on. Front basket was sliced at the bottom but was in the middle of the big box when I opened it. 3. Bends in the metal, where the back basket would have fit onto the scooter (IF they sent ANY bolts/screws. 4. The cord twisty had obviously been untied/retied. 5. Armrests had already been inserted at some point. HORRIBLE time paying for shipping and FINALLY getting refunded 3 months later. ... show more
