Disclosure...I bought this from somewhere else. I don't see this being worth $749. I'm a huge fan of EVH but I think the 5150 Iconic is a better value. With this...even at 1/4 power setting you have to crank it to get a good sound since there's no master volume. Plus the EL84 tubes just don't have the same dynamics, tone and push as full sized tubes. I found that if you push it with a tubescreamer or OD pedal it's a little better and cant just get to modern metal (LBX-S is better for that though). This can keep up with a full band but you'll loose a little oomph due to the EL84s. ... show more

This is the most versatile amp I've owned. You can dial in chimey Fender cleans, to Orange AD30-style mid range overdrive to cranked Fender Tweed-style overdrive on the green channel. Adding a fuzz or overdrive to the clean channel opens up a lot Smashing Pumpkins big muff tones and early Sabbath sounds. The Blue channel goes from JCM800 territory up to that cranked 5150/Soldano sound. To my ear, the blue channel sounds pretty similar to the red channel on the Peavey 5150. Combining it with an attenuator allows you to hit all these sounds without blowing out your ears. Because even on the 3.5w setting, this thing is crazy loud. I can dial in bedroom levels on the green channel in 3.5w mode, but the blue channel goes from clock radio at master volume 7:00 to roaring beast at 7:30. The resonance control allows you to get that thumpy, palm muted bass even at lower volumes. ... show more

The most incredible sounding amplifier I've ever owned. If you want to nail that 70's-80's distorted rock crunch, look no further! Even though it's only 15 watts, it's the loudest 15 watts I've ever heard! Combine it with a guitar armed with an EVH Frankenstein pickup, add an EVH speaker cabinet, and I still haven't stopped smiling 😁 ... show more
