This phone mount worked fairly well for the past year. The clamp wasn't the easiest to install, nor is it very strong however the magnet worked well with a magsafe case. However I removed the mount to install in a different vent and noticed that the metal punctured the rubber part of the clamp and will now not attach (as pictured). Very disappointing - especially considering ESR's year warranty doesn't apply to products purchased on Amazon. Before this I would have given this at least 4 stars, however now I can't recommend this product. Update(3/23/2023): ESR reached out to me both here and via support email and shipped out a replacement. Great support and I liked the product so I'm bumping this up to 4. Will update if the new one breaks again. ... show more

I purchased this product with the intent to mount it to my dash and it worked perfectly. I don’t like vent clips so I can not speak to the effectiveness of that aspect, but the adhesive patch secures the mount in place and it is very sturdy. My main concern was the magnet strength and holding power, but I have not had my phone fall once. I also use a MagSafe compatible phone case, so that likely helps. It also has solid rotational range to adjust your phone to whatever angle you need. I can’t think of any drawbacks for this product. It works as described, works well, and looks fine. This mount was working well until the vent clamp broke apart, dropping my phone to the floor. 2 months beyond the one year warranty! I had to replace with a different one. Hopefully it will last a little longer. 12/7/23 update. ESR customer service has reached out to me and refunded the purchase price of the broken product and also supplied a newer upgraded mount at NO CHARGE! I am very happy with their product support and will continue to purchase their phone accessories. I highly recommend them. ... show more

I had originally purchased a mount for my father as he had just gotten a iPhone 13 pro. Being a pro max user myself, I quickly grew to enjoy the convenience and ease of use of this mount vs other mounts. I was curious how one would work out for myself. I should note my father lives in Florida, where the roads are decent and the plows and salt do not wreak havoc. I live in the northeast, in a city where 80% of the roads have serious potholes, some large enough to engulf the wheel well. Paired with the hefty 240g weight of the pro max, the strength of the magnets was critical. I am proud to say that this mount has never once failed me. Through all the wicked potholes and divets, the phone remained stationary. My faith in this mount is solidified. ... show more

    • Rubber Clips Sloshes in Vent Hole When Moving Phone Screen
There is room for improvement in the design. It has a clip you must push into the vent slits. Problem is MAYBE your vents are too narrow or maybe the vent at top or bottom is too narrow, because the rubber clip is very wide. So you may or may not have a fitment issue with the meaty rubber clip. BUT, even if it fits, as it does in my car, the lack of a holding "J" clip you see on other mounts means that the clip WILL slip slide as you move your phone left or right. When you move your phone on the magnet mount, this causes slight pulling out/dislodging in the back (regardless of the bottom holder). This is very fatiguing and annoying to have to always recalibrate the mount BACK INTO the VENT since the rubber clip can't HOLD it in place like the fish hook holder design. Aside of this the plate is VERY large. Too big and interferes with the consoles of the car and BLOCKS more vent air that it needs to. Finally, the magnet itself is solid. Very good and holds my HEAVY S23 Ultra just fine, especially with the bottom pillar clip. But as I said, if you move your phone side-to-side (as you may need to do with the shifting Sun), the clip will shift out causing car vibration if you don't recalibrate it back. So piece of advice is to make this large plate less wide and put a hook in the back and then you'll have a much more functional product. ... show more
