    • Impressively simple!
This was my first foray into resin printing. I've been using FDM printers for several years, so I had some background in the technology. I was amazed at how easy it was to set this guy up and get running, though! Chitubox basic didn't seem to want to slice for me, but it comes with a years subscription to Pro, and that works great! I've had one failure out of several prints, a few of which were pretty complicated and likely should have failed. The wash and cure station works really well, too. I had to spread the handles of the basket a little, but now I can take the print bed off the Mars 3 and drop it straight in the wash bucket and wash it all simultaneously. Curing seems to work well, too. I don't have anything to compare it to, though. Mods: I've already swapped to a magnetic flexible build plate. Getting anything with any surface area off the stock plate is downright dangerous! I stabbed my thumbnail hard enough with the enclosed scraper to draw blood trying to get the Rook print (included on the thumbdrive) off the plate! With the mag plate, prints stick great and pop right off. If you're considering this printer, go ahead and buy the mag plate at the same time. I went with the cheapest one on Amazon, it came as a 2-pack, and was totally worth it. I've also printed a collar that goes on the bed mount to allow me to hang the entire bed off the Z-axis at an angle to allow excess resin to drip for a while when the prints are done. Found it on Thingiverse, printed on my Ender. Detail: Breathtaking. Albeit, I don't have a lot of experience with resin, but I'm looking forward to playing with some miniatures and other complex prints to see how impressive it can get! I'm using Elegoo Water Washable Resin. I wash it first in the wash station for a few minutes, then I use a spray bottle of IPA and a brush to get into all the little details. Once I started that cleaning regimen, the cured prints come out clean as a whistle. Just water washing left enough uncured resin behind to leave them hazy in spots after curing. So it's not 100% alcohol-free, but it's really just a few squirts. No more than I use to clean a print bed on my FDM printers. Conclusion: This combo is a great deal. I'd recommend it to friends, family, or anyone interested in resin printing. ... show more

I love everything about this pair of machines. The quality is phenomenal! They do exactly what they advertise and do it right out of the box no fussing around with stuff. Stock up on supplies because this thing prints fast!

    • Resin printing is for miniatures!
I now have added to my collection and the printing of miniatures for DND is amazing. My standard PLA printer didn’t do miniatures justice.

    • One month in and loving it!
I was told the Mars line is mainly for miniatures. So far I'm proving "them" wrong. I've learned to slice, peg, and size files to my heart's content. I may upgrade to a larger sized set in the future, but for right now I'm having a great time!

    • Not a good combination.
As individual products, both work good. But they shouldn't be sold as a combination. The curing station is too small for the build platform of the printer when you want to use the cleaning mode. So you end up having to separate the print from the build platform to clean it. I have had a couple of prints that do not fit properly in the cleaning tank even after removing them. ... show more
