  • Ender 5 Plus - great printer and great reseller
Update: 12/4/19 Comgrow reached to me with options to alleviate my issues, because of this I have changed rating to 5-star. Comgrow is reliable and trustworthy to do business with. I will continue to support and buy from them in the future. ________ Update: 11/27/19 I’ve decided to revise my rating for this. I had experienced a power outage in my area and the Ender 5 Plus had gave me a error for “thermal runaway”. The LCD was still on because it was tethered via usb to my laptop. When the power came back on suddenly all the function issues disappeared, I was able to use SD card with no issues. But the burnt electronics smell still lingered in the PSU, that is the main reason why I’ll keep it at 3 stars rather than 5 stars. Additionally, I shouldn’t have to experience a power outage just to get this printer fully functional. Overall, everything is working like normal, awaiting the silent board from Creality3D that I just recently ordered from their website and a New PSU that doesn’t emit burnt smells. Thanks. _______________ Easy to assemble but had functional issues out of the box. I made sure that the PSU was set to 115v before powering on. Right off the bat I smelled something burning coming from the PSU. I used the SD card that was included, not detected. I verified on my other Ender 3 Pro and it was perfectly fine, was not able to duplicate the same issue. I checked the firmware it was 1.70.0, custom upgraded it to 1.70.1 with the claims that it would fix the bedleveling issue or even Sd card issue. No changes. Firmware: 1.70.0 & after 1.70.1 Failure modes: -SD card fail (not detected) -BL fail (Bed leveling issues) -PSU fail (burning electronics smell, suspect faulty components or grounding issues) Hopefully comgrow will compensate for this, this seems to be an issue for other people as well. ... show more

  • Amazing!
I am writing this review over 4 years after purchase. This machine isn't for beginers but if you know what you are doing it will serve you well. I use this unit all the time and it produces amazing prints. Even after all this time it hasn't needed much. Well worth the money. Funny enough its printing right now as I am writing this review. ... show more

  • Over priced for the needed upgrades out of the box
This printer is huge. That is where the good things stop. The printer ships with a bunch of cheap components that they tell you to upgrade in the manual. I spent 600 on a Ender 5 Plus printer for that. It doesn't come with a quiet servo control board, that is an upgrade. It doesn't come with a metal tension holder for the extruder, that is an upgrade. It doesn't come with a good tube for filament, that is an upgrade. It doesn't come with wire management. That is an upgrade or printable component. It doesn't come with the extrusion supported with corner brackets on each corner. The ones that are on it are plastic causing it to flex and shake violently when printing. Missing brackets are an upgrade (Needs 16 more). Aluminum brackets are an upgrade. Then it gets better. The screen is a joke for the readouts. Very broken English and bad translation. Z+ on one screen moves in the negative direction while same button is moving positive on the other screen. And for the kicker, the automatic table adjustment doesn't actually do anything. It just lets you know it is out of level by you reading the numbers (and some of those don't show up from the bad programming.) If you power cycle the machine you have to completely re-level the bed because the Z axis looses position by as much as 5mm. (Does that mean that any print during a power failure is trash?) So you may have a great print one day and a horrible print the next day depending on how you level the bed. This means it is really hard to get consistent print quality. When it is leveled correctly, the print quality is excellent. ... show more

  • It's loud! But it's great!
Great printer. This is my third 3D printer with my Ender 5 Pro and Ender 3 Pro. I appreciate the build volume that's achievable on the Plus and the design is really solid. However, I did have my expectations set higher since this one costs a lot more than the Ender 5 Pro, overall it's a good printer - just needs some upgrades. I had to make sure that the power supply was 110v ready and it is without a switch, which was nice. I took note that this uses the Creality v2.2 main board, which is not a silent board. Wire management with the 5 Plus is very nice compared to the 5 Pro. The tubing for the fillament is a standard white tube instead of the nice blue tubing. The extruder is made of plastic instead of metal. After it was built, I was a bit shocked by how much it weighed in total. Much heavier than the 5 pro. The dual Z axis rods are nice for stability and they work as expected; however, I didn't expect them to squeak like a swing set. I had to buy some lithium grease to lubricate the rods. In the end, this printer is very nice with a full glass bed and the BLTouch. I just wish the unit came with a silent main board, but I'll just have to get a 3rd party board at some point. The fans are also pretty loud and I have replacements planned for them as well. I wish this was the quietest printer out of the box, but it needs some work to bring it up to my standards. Prints very well. And just as with any printer, check your slicer settings and make sure you slice it right. Often, the quality of the print is on the user slicing the object. I had an issue with Cura and had to make a very simple change to the starting gcode to get it to begin printing correctly. TL,DR: 4/5 stars since it's super loud. Had to buy grease and quieter fans. Good build. Nice cable management. Solid performance. ... show more
