Terrific pot for steaming my shrimp, oysters and scallops. I put a small ventilated basket in the bottom and add about 1/2 cup of water and add my desired seafood and set it on medium heat with the lid on and Voila, superb seafood steamed to perfection. The bottom distributes heat as evenly as any pot I have ever owned. Tomorrow I am going to bread some fresh shrimp and drop them into some hot oil in this pot at about 340 to 360 degrees for about 7-10 minutes to see how they come out. I will bet they will be great. Hey! Buy this pot. I do not believe you will be disappointed. And by the way, I didn't have any trouble getting the label off. This pot does the job but you’ll definitely want to set aside some time to remove the giant impossible to remove sticker before using. Mine made a clicking noise while on the stove initially, but I don’t know enough but this type of pan to decide if that is weird or not. I love this thing! I got it originally to make thanksgiving food since I didn’t have a large stock pot, and honestly I use this for everything. I used to have a smaller pot but I broke it so now I just use this and I’m fine. It’s very sturdy, a little heavy but it’s cookware and wouldn’t it be concerning if it was lightweight? Any who, it’s easy to use (it’s a pot) and I really love the quality of it. I want to buy the rest of the ecolution line eventually so I have a set of quality cookware. ... show more

Probably a nice little stock pot. But I'll be sticker removing all day before I get a chance to make dumplings. Why in the world anyone would think its a good idea to take a nice polished stainless steel pot and apply a 7 1/2" x 4 1/2" label on the side is beyond comprehension. It has to be one of the most under evaluated decision made by someone who obviously should not be in charge of any corporate ecogical decision making. Because a recyclable pamphlet inside would make a ton more sense. Beautiful pot. Big ugly environmental unfriendly hard to remove sticker on the side. Picture is the pot in a soapy sink for half hour and how far I had gotten picking at it with my fingernail. UPDATE: This is a good pot. I liked the 8qt enough after making dumplings, that I bought a 12qt. Someone wrote a review about boiling 3 cups water and then try to remove dticker, and it worked. First try. The giant STICKER came off in one large piece perfectly. I wish it was possible to comment and thank the reviewer. It saved me a lot of time and trouble. Again, prior to sticker removal, put three cups water in pot, cover with lid and bring to boil. Then proceed with sticker removal.
