Works great as all ways but I prefer the crystals and or powder.I think the powder/crystal form works better and gives quicker results.I tend to use this or glutathione to keep my dry skin moisturize and soft.I think it also helps keep my glucose somewhat regulated and also might keep my weight slightly suppressed but this might be a placebo.It also seems to give my hair a softer feel to it but again this might be another placebo.Dont expect fast results but then again everyone’s body is different.I think my body is slow to absorb thinks and isn’t as sensitive. I think I usually notice results about a month or a month in a half in.It always tricks me in that way I’d think to myself that it’s not working but when the month is over with or almost over with that’s when I start to notice the difference of the before and after mostly in my skin and even in my glucose numbers. ... show more

I had never heard of MSM but a friend of mine kept harping on me to try it because I have joint pain as well as severe allergies. I was afraid to take a sulfur compound but did my research and it is a very safe supplement. My friend suggested this brand after having tried a number of others. It was inexpensive so I figured I would give it a shot. The pills are pretty large, white and oval. They don't have an odor. One a day is all that is needed. They cause no side effects that I can discern. No stomach upset or anything else. I have been taking these daily for about five weeks. At first, I didn't see any improvement in anything. But I did notice my hair was growing super fast and was much stronger than usual after a few weeks. That is great for me because I do have a thyroid issue which can cause my hair to be thin and break. My hair has grown at least two inches in just the five weeks I have been taking this supplement and that, in itself, is a reason to keep taking it. My hair usually grows very, very slowly. My nails also seem to be growing faster and are harder. As far as joint pain, I haven't has as much neck pain as usual but I can't tell for sure if it is this MSM or just a coincidence. My allergies, too, have been a bit better but who knows if it is supplement or just timing. I will have to continue talking this for several weeks to be able to say for sure that it helps joint pain and allergies. But it absolutely does help hair growth. I don't know if it would help someone trying to grow hair back that they lost through balding but it definitely has helped my hair to grow longer and thicker. Since it is safe to take, doesn't interfere with any medications, and has no side effects, I am going to continue to take these pills and see what happens. I am hoping to see improvement over he long haul in joint pain as well as allergies. I have severe allergies and my friend says these help her a lot. We'll see. I am going with 4 stars for now because I can see the improvements in my hair and nails and maybe a bit in my skin as well. I also have been in less pain but I will wait a while to claim this is the reason. I see no reason why you shouldn't take this Doctors Best Best MSM. It may help a lot with several issues and it doesn't have any side effects. You even can take it if you are allergic to sulfur antibiotics as it is different kind of sulfur that our own bodies make. ... show more

First off, I’m black/asian with 4a/b curly hair. I shaved my head about 3 weeks ago due to a huge mishap with my hair. I’ve only been taking this along with bamboo silica for about two weeks now and I’m pretty sure it’s working. My edges (baby hairs) have somehow grown down to my eyelashes which has never happened before in my life and kinda freaked me out . My hair has also been growing like a weed and that’s never happened before either. My only thing is idk if it’s this or the bamboo silica causing this or maybe both together.     • Significant change in nails
Once I started using this product my nails started growing so much faster and I’m getting lots of compliments. I saw some change on my hair but not too crazy. The pills are a little big but it’s not hard to swallow at all for me, it doesn’t have any weird taste either. I think it so worth the price!

    • Baby Hairs (Yay!) But Also Causing Breakouts
I had heard that MSM works wonders for the hair, skin, and nails. I am mainly supplementing it for hair growth and health. I took MSM in highschool in conjunction with bamboo extract silica, maintaining a healthy diet, and washing my hair only every 5-7 days. My hair was SO long and healthy. Since then I’ve neglected by health so I’m trying to reimplement some better habits and supps. I’ve been taking two pills 2x per day. It works best when taken with vitamin C. I take it with a multivitamin that contains vitamin C however I may try with lemon water/orange juice instead to see if that makes a difference. Since adding this to my regimen, I’ve been breaking out horribly and I do not have acne prone skin. I’ve read that acne and headaches may occur if you’re not drinking enough water or start with too high of a dose. Others have had success with starting at a low dose and gradually increasing it so I will give that a try and update my review! I have had hair growth as tons of baby hairs have grown already. I wasn’t expecting a change so soon but it’s very obvious! It should be noted that I am also taking silica and multivitamins so those may also be part of my success. ... show more
