I have most all Dewalt 20v tools. In my shop, the overhead lights just do not provide enough brightness. This unit is perfect for my needs to provide targeted light when I need it The features of this light are really nice having a rotating and pivoting head, a kickstand to hold it upright and a magnet - which is strong enough, but could be stronger depending on what size (weight) battery you use. It is a smallish unit which is what I wanted and with the ability to swivel the head any direction is just what I needed. The quality is what you expect from Dewalt, heavy duty everything. I'm very impressed with how bright this light is. The swivel head clicks/locks in any position, and the "spot" is pretty decent from 5'. Typical rugged/tough and sturdy body. "Kickstand" allows you to stand the light upright or hang it from anything. Also has a clip and magnets -- I wish the magnets were stronger. Other than that, I think it's perfect. ... show more

Dewalt's 20v work light lineup continues to baffle me. Frankly none of their lights have that Goldilocks quality for me. It's like they thought through the design about 90% and then stopped. This light has a lot of positives. The build quality is what you expect from the other 20v platform tools. Solid but unexceptional. The light output is bright. Given the rated lumens I expected to be underwhelmed but it's plenty for a small work light. This work light is IMO the most versatile in DeWalt's catalog. There are innumerable ways to position or affix it, between the magnets, the various sides, and the hanging hook. I particularly like that the hanging hook can snap down 180 degrees to form a 'leg' and allow the light to stand up on edge. Once it's positioned, you can then rotate the head in just about any direction to get light on your work. However, all these features make for an oddly proportioned light. It doesn't fit in your hands, even if you're Sasquatch. There's no comfortable way to carry it as a flashlight. It strictly makes sense as a *work light* that you position close to your work to give area light. So to me, it makes zero sense that this is designed to provide a tight *spotlight*. It should give a wide, diffuse beam suitable for close quarters work. As it is I often have to constantly adjust it so I have enough, but not too much, light on what I'm working on. With a design change to make this give a wide, nicely diffused beam this would be an easy 5 star product. ... show more
