  • A great add-on for "emergency" auto parts buys on a budget.
Color: Black
This is very decent little light, It is especially good at the price point with two lights included, however, I would avoid the 4 light pack, as that is pretty much a diminishing return. These were purchased in the middle of a Texas heat wave where I had to fix the wifes' car. However, I am an epileptic that has a sensitivity to direct sunlight and heat in general. Therefore, I work at night. At the time I only had a few harbor freight dollar lights that eat through AAAs like an addict burns through self-respect. Foremost, these ARE rechargeable, but it is important to know that they run on MINI-USB. It was never claimed otherwise in their product description, but it is important to not assume they run on USB-C. Many of you no longer have MINI-USB cords and they are getting increasingly difficult to find. This also means that these lights will have a shorter service life than had they used USB-B due to the way MINI-USB pulls the charging port out over time. Do not yank the charger out of the light, it will shorten that life even further. The light modes- the main light bar is a flood style with no hot point. This is great for auto repair. The bar is also thin and able to get into tight spots in order to see. However, the spotlight mode is really dim and almost useless unless being used as a secondary light to reduce shadows from a primary light. A major plus is that it CAN be used while plugged in. If you have the luxury of a powered tool cart, This can give you a lot more work time at full brightness assuming you can afford extra wires in your work space. The magnet and hook are quite "meh" If you do not have a thick, very ferrous metal to stick it to, the magnet is mostly adequate to barely keep itself attached when the light is extended to the point of maximum leverage. If you car, suspend it vertically for most stability. Speaking of suspension, The hook is also just "meh" it does its' job, but is on the thin side which does not inspire confidence that this light will be around for decades. Had it been on a more pricy option, I would avoid whatever brand had the audacity to use it. But as priced, it is kid of hard to fault it as it does work and function as advertised. The range of motion of the primary like is good. I don't see the average person needing much more flexibility. If you do, this is the wrong type of light in general. You may find more excellence in a borescope style light. The red light is actually pretty excellent. Bright and clear without being blinding. However the flashing red light seems useless for the demographic this is supposed to be for. It is a work light, not a flashlight. Not a tactical light. It has no pocket clip, so it is not really a hiking or personal light. If you need to flag someone down, I suppose it would work, but even as a "Im walking here, don't run over me" light it isn't going to do well given that lack of a clip. I feel they really should have foregone the flashing red light and invested in a stronger magnet. It does have that weird "tear up invalid" sticker seen in the pictures, which I thought to simply be an overlooked artifact in editing. No, it is there, and the only thing I can possibly think it is, is some security seal where they wont warranty the light if removed; as if anyone is going to bother. All in all I say it gets the job done on a budget. But I would certainly keep looking for a more long term solution. Treated well, I am sure they will last awhile. But it is not the kind of light you would expect to keep living through drop after drop onto concrete. ... show more

  • Awesome Value
Color: Black
Love these as grill lights. I ordered two, thinking I would use one on the left side of the grill and one on the right. The first time I used them I realize I tend to only light the right side of the grill and do my grilling there (we are only a family of 2). So, I adapted and placed them both on the right side. PLENTY of light. I probably only need one. But they are very inexpensive and having two is twice as nice. They produce plenty of light for grilling in otherwise pitch-black conditions. The battery life seems abundant for my purpose and I LOVE the fact that they are USB-rechargeable. The magnetic base works really well--as long as your surface is metal containing iron (for example steel) and not aluminum, stainless steel or some other material. My grill is black painted steel, and the magnetic bases hold very firmly. I stow these neatly in my kitchen drawer with my grilling tools (see pic), ready to grab and deploy whenever the impulse to grill occurs. I have seen some reviewers complain about the switch leaving the small light on, this in my opinion is a nit-pick. The switch is simply a sequential switch: push once for hi, again for low, again for a small penlight feature, and then again to switch off. Simple. And now, I would like to share a small piece of advice: grills can get very, very hot!!! Think about it--ANY grill light you buy will run the risk of being melted or damaged if placed directly over the burners. I saw some grill lights that mount directly on the grill lid and was very concerned that they may not take the heat, especially over time. The lights are bright enough that they can be placed on the side shelf of the grill, far enough away from the burner surface so as to be in no danger of getting singed. Very happy with the purchase and only wish I had bought these long ago!! ... show more

  • Nice addition, worth the money.
Color: Black
These are certainly good value for money, and function well as a small work light. They are small enough to throw in a glove box or toolbox. The light bar rotates 360° from fully closed to fully open, or anywhere in between. That’s pretty cool. The primary functions of work light high and low work well. The red (hold the button for 5 seconds) might be nice for camping (save the night vision) and the flashing red would be useful as an emergency flasher on the side of the road. The “flashlight” function is pretty much useless. Your cell phone is probably brighter. It's too widely focused and would better if the beam was tightened up. It’s certainly not powerful enough to determine if that critter in your trash is a racoon or a bear. I don’t expect to be using that function at all. That’s where it loses a star. The light weight is nice, except that if you try to stand it up with the light bar winged out perpendicular to the body it tends to fall over under its own weight. On the upside, the charging light changes from red to a much brighter green when it’s fully charged. That’s a material plus for the 8% of men who suffer from red-green color vision deficiency. ... show more
