  • Great snowboard, great service
I've been snowboarding for ~10 years and decided this was the year I wasn't going to pay for another rental. Having left things to the last minute, my purchase criteria were: quick delivery, nice graphic, economical but reliable. Stauber nailed it: I'm 6'2, 220lbs and went with the 158 inch board. I had a great ride and looking forward to taking it out again. Very impressed with the board, the feel and really like its matte finish. The bindings do the job and were initially easy to setup. After doing a few runs though, I decided to adjust one of the straps and found one of the adjustment eyes/holes (the one I needed) on the strap was slightly misaligned which resulted in difficulty threading the screw through it. I got it back in so I could continue snowboarding but damaged the screw head in the process. After getting back I reached out to Stauber to get a replacement screw which are unique because they have hinged covers. My intention was to have someone slightly stretch the rubber strap enough to compensate for the misalignment so I could get the screw in straight, but in addition to replacement screws, Stauber immediately sent new straps too! Now it all fits together no problem. Really good customer service, thanks! Very happy with the purchase and recommend to others. ... show more

  • Great Value - nice beginner board.
So I had approx. 2 days of experience snowboarding when I decided I enjoyed it more than skiing and took the plunge. In summary, this is a great and forgiving board and is an excellent value for the money. I am 6' and 180lbs and purchased the 158" board. I think it was the best size for a beginner of my dimensions since it is relatively easy to turn yet you can still pickup decent speed without too much reverb. When actually boarding, I noticed a number of times where I thought to myself "I probably should have caught an edge", but I think the way the board is shaped creates more leeway and time to correct yourself before catching an edge. Not to say you can't catch an edge, but it is more difficult to do especially compared to rental boards. It doesn't mean that you won't fall... but your falls will be a lot easier to handle with the board slipping out from under you on turns vs. doing flips and landing really hard. Bindings were acceptable. I noticed some squeaking later in the trip which irritated me, but that could happen with any bindings. Word to the wise - do not rest your board on your boot on the lift like I am in the photo without precautions. The sharpness of the board ended up cutting up my right boot (which I consider my fault so I'm not holding it against the board). I believe this is as good a beginner board as any, and with the convenience of amazon (2 day shipping), it can't be beat. It really is a steal of a deal for all that you get considering any decent beginner set up at a Ski shop will set you back ~$500. ... show more

  • Good for advanced rider and/or taller rider
It took me about half an hour to get used to my new board and how it worked, but once I did, it's a great board. I was a little nervous about riding a 161 (usually do 155); I'm 6'0". I normally rented a 155 wide...don't need the wide with this board. It worked great all-mountain and in the park. I don't do anything too tough in the parks but do well on the basics, plus a few 360s off the jumps. It's definitely well-made and durable. My only slight issue is with the bindings. They were a little tough to unlatch at first. I kinda got the hang of it and figured out how to make it work, but it occasionally would still stick until I really put some force into it. Otherwise, no complaints at all. Shipping was 2 days faster than promised, so no worries about getting it in time for a last minute trip. ... show more

  • Good but slick board, binding straps occasionally got stuck
I bought this for myself. I’m a beginner level snowboarder, so I was looking for something inexpensive yet functional. That’s what you get with this board. The biggest problem I encountered was the binding straps occasionally getting stuck when I tried to unstrap to use the lift. There’s also no stomp board - the board itself is very slick with no traction. So maybe consider buying some tacks to help keep you stabilized on the board while you’re riding it down the ski lift. Otherwise, it worked great. It’s good looking, perfect for my height and weight, and for the most part the bindings only occasionally got stuck, not enough to ruin my fun for the day. I really like how it’s twin directional, I’m still trying to figure out which is my best riding direction so it helps to have a board that can do both while down the slope. The instructions that come with the bindings helped me a lot, especially the beginner suggestions for what angles I should screw them in at. ... show more

  • Great overall board!
I love this board! I have been snowboarding for several years now and this was the first board I purchased. Great quality for the price. I have heard nothing but good things about their customer service, but I have not yet had a reason to contact them. Awesome starter board for anyone. My son tried it and now prefers it over his own. I would highly recommend it. ... show more
