* Fun backyard flyer. * Glides much better than the DeerRC bipe. * Controller works with a couple other models, but not the bipe. * Impressively crash-tolerant: full speed into a concrete wall, no problem. * Front landing gear held in place by friction only - needs a detent to lock it in place. This is for the DEERC RC Plane 'Bald Eagle'. I wish I could give it less than 1 star. Ordered this before July 4th, thought it would be a fun surprise at our camp. Right out of the box, brand-new, the remote wouldn't work - completely dead. Tried two sets of new batteries - from what I could tell, dead as a doornail. No light and no reaction. The propeller-motors on the plane (bird) would turn right on when you turn on the power - couldn't slow/stop/increase or turn or anything because of the remote. I tried just in case it was only a light out, but nothing at all. This item was JUNK right out of the box, brand-new. Absolute waste of money. Yeah, maybe I can return it but not worth my time (I live remote). This is probably where they make their profit - knowing that at this price-point ($35+/-) many people will just throw it out instead of returning - and they keep the money. ... show more

    • You need a big field.
This plane looked exactly like an eagle in flight, and was scaring the other birds in a huge field. It was easy to operate, and was so beautiful as it flew above us and responded to the controller. All of a sudden, I think the wind got it, and it took off far to the right over an impossible mass of brush and weeds. My 7 year old grandson was crying as we raced after it, but it stopped responding to the controller. We watched helplessly as it floated down into those weeds, and then we went after it. Ended up with stickers all over our shoes and pants, and scratches all over our legs, but no Eagle. One sad but brave little boy, and two sad grandparents. Hoping for a response from the seller, but we liked it so much that we ordered another. ... show more

    • Fun, but the motors pop off pretty easily
This is a fun, easy RC to fly, but the motors are glued onto styrofoam and pop off fairly easily, even when landing in grass. I was able to superglue one back on and got a few more days of flying out of it, but in order to make the craft light, it's design is also fragile. I'll order another and see if I have better luck. ... show more

    • never flown any remote plane and i flew this easy. 4 landings no problem 1crash
this bird was very easy to fly since when you turn the props x2 spins at different speeds to make the turn and as a new-be i would throttle back and stall but steering it saved me since it accelerates to turn Crashed it once and no damage. by the 4th landing it looked like a pro landing. my son is a gamer and he landed it prefect first go. the only bad is it is very lite and does get blown around on windy days love flying and good durability and looks great flying ... show more

This actually looks like a bird in the sky. Unfortunately, even a light breeze will soar it out of sight, landing who knows where. Through my adult son's Boy Scouts talents, we were able to retrieve it in the tree tops of the forest. Jus waiting for a warm, calm day. It will be so much fun.
