I purchased this griddle long time ago and have been using it mainly for pancakes, and I’m really happy with it so far! The cooking surface is large enough to handle a good batch of pancakes at once, which is perfect for my family. While I did notice that the heat distribution can be a little uneven, with the edges getting hotter than the center, I’ve learned to adjust the heat and spread out the food more evenly. This way, everything cooks perfectly. One of the standout features for me is how easy it is to clean. After it cools down, I wipe the surface with a damp cloth and any residue comes right off. It does have some open areas along the edges where food can drip, but I haven’t had any major issues with that—just a quick wipe with a wet cloth, and it’s good to go. The design is sleek, and I love how it fits right into my kitchen setup. While I’ve mostly used it for pancakes, I’m excited to try other things like grilled cheese and quesadillas. The versatility and ease of cleaning make this griddle a great addition to my kitchen, and I’d definitely recommend it for anyone looking to cook small to medium-sized portions with minimal fuss. ... show more

Great product. I bought this because my SIL gave us 2 gallons (yes gallons!) of premium maple syrup, so I needed to start making some pancakes. No griddle, so I bought this. I was a little nervous about some negative comments, but I found none to be a problem. One user mentioned the space betweem the cook top and the outside and that food drops into. First, the space is there for a very good reason - it's for insulation and allows the outside to keep from getting hot. That works great, can heat the bugger up to level 5 and still be able to handle the outside. Thank you! Does it make it a little harder to clean? Eh. Not really. Sometimes I drip batter down it, but a wet cloth gets it right out. Several comments mentioned and showed pictures of uneven heating. I found this at first too. But it is easily remedied by adjusting the heat. The booklet that comes with it has a far too low heating temp for pancakes. I cook mine at 3.5 and don't have a problem. I also center the pancakes over the heating elements in two rows (flip the unit over and you can see where the heating element runs). My pancakes turn out great. If you cook too low or set them in the center then you will be disappointed. I have found this unit to be incredibly easy to clean. Let it all cool, wipe with a dry cloth to get the solid dregs to loosen. Anything that's left comes right off with a damp cloth. Easy, peasy. Easiest cleaning appliance I own! Note: I only use this for pancakes, so can't speak to anything else. I have also never had any problems with it no longer working as some reviewers state. I ordered this to use in the camper on camping trips or vacations. It heats evenly and has been perfect for its intended use. I can make breakfast of all kinds super quick and easy. I can also grill hamburgers or quesadillas on it. It is also easy to clean. Plus, i love the turquoise color!

This griddle looks nice, is well-built and sturdy, and the cooking surface is large and is nice for cooking pancakes which is the only thing I use it for. You have to move the pancakes around or they will be brown on one half and not the other. I can't see cooking bacon or anything else on it because it does cooks so unevenly. So far the nonstick surface is holding up and is very slick and easy to clean. I don't think any of these griddles with that one loop of a cooking element underneath cook evenly, it's just the nature of the beast. I love my Dash griddle!! My primary usage of it is making pancakes, hence the headline, and I think it makes some amazing pancakes! I’ve used the griddle several times at this point and it hasn’t disappointed me. The surface is large, but to keep it simple, I just spread out whatever I’m cooking instead of loading it up. That makes it easier to cook things evenly anyway. Cleaning isn’t bad, though I’m used to putting griddles sideways and going to town with a sponge while avoiding the socket. But to properly clean, you just take a damp, non-abrasive sponge/rag/cloth with a little dish soap to the cooking surface area when it’s cooled down and unplugged. Then use a damp, non-abrasive sponge/rag/cloth to wipe off the soap. Spot clean the exterior so you won’t get water in all the wrong crevices....and there are plenty of them, which is why I emphasize surface cleaning the cooking plate and spot cleaning the outside. I did the whole put it in the sink and wash it thing and it was a pain wiping off the water from where it isn’t supposed to be. The bottom has an “open architecture”, so it’s easy for water to travel into the socket despite avoiding it while in the sink. Anyways, I like the griddle. I’d honestly recommend it to someone making small/single-sized portions because it’s quick and easy, but I mean, I recommend it in general as well. It’s pretty nice with a large enough surface and it’s been easy to maintain. I bought the red one and it fits right into my little kitchen. ... show more

I have mixed feelings about this appliance. 😕 I spent a small fortune putting in an island and cooktop with granite counters and chimney hood and my wife prefers this griddle! I wish I knew she'd never use the cooktop again or pans once I got this. It does create some splatter as expected, and it should be used under a vent hood but it works great. It cleans easy and it wasn't expensive. I had a bad habit of turning it to 500 instead of off, so make sure you don't do that! (I unplug it as well). Other than that, it has never left the counter which is the biggest drawback. ... show more
