First thing out of the box, I noticed BIG!! Large enough for a big family. I bought this skillet to cook pancakes, and maybe hamburgers. I've found it is so versatile, I use it for a lot of other things as well. In the reviews I read, others complained that it has hot spots, and cycles too often, but the instructions say to heat it enough ahead of time to allow it to cycle 4-5 times to heat up to the right temperature and heat evenly. I do that, and have had no problems with uneven heating. It is made of a relatively thin aluminum alloy, which allows it to heat very quickly, but like I said, it needs a few cycles to evenly heat. One of the best things about this skillet is that its ceramic coating makes it super easy to clean. Many of the reviews I read said that they just wipe it out with a paper towel. I wasn't sure how that would work, and how sanitary it would be, but I tried it and it works very well. As far as being unsanitary, who scrubs their barbeque with soap and water every time they use it? This thing gets plenty hot to kill any bacteria, so I don't see it as a problem. There's a temperature guide in the booklet that came with it, and I follow that. Works well. The removable thermostat works consistently well also. I'd definitely buy it again. ... show more

Finally after many many years we upgraded our Presto. Made chicken fried steak and came out great. Heats even and clean up was easy. Our old one was egg shaped so pouring left over oil was messy. I hope this one lasts as long as the last one.

I love this electric skillet. I purchased this to replace a smaller one that I’ve had for years. This is really big. You could cook a whole meal in it. You could cook a whole breakfast in it at one time the only thing cleaning it if you have a small sink is kind of cumbersome, but I knew the size I bought it for it size so I’m not knocking it for that, it cleans up easily. I’ve used it. I don’t know how many times since I bought it mostly all through the summer because it doesn’t heat up my whole kitchen to use it so I love it. It’s a great pan. ... show more

This electric skillet cooks evenly and it fits a good amount of food. I have only used it for pancakes and french toast so far, and it was very successful. Heats up very fast and food came out great. I would have liked the temperature dial a little farther away from the hot surface. You have to put your fingers under the handle and it is difficult to see what you are doing, and a little close to the hot parts. Hence, the four stars. I ordered this during a kitchen remodel to cook breakfast in. It did not disappoint. I had the 16 in one. Used it everyday for about 5 weeks. May still use it in the new kitchen to cook bacon in because it does not splatter grease everywhere.
