I am a HUGE fan of QUALITY products and this indoor grill fits that bill. My Husband and I ENJOY having a GOOD steak or burger once in a while and we only "fire up" our VERY LARGE outdoor charcoal grill during the summer season. We have owned an indoor grill from a well known brand for years...However, it tends to "char" the food BEFORE it's fully cooked because it DOES NOT have a temperature control setting. This leads to "dryness" of the meat. Though, I liked that our OLD grill had removable plates that I could clean in the dishwasher, the fact that I could NOT control the temperature always bothered me because of the way our food would cook. It would also trap grease in hard to reach places and drip down under the removable plates and burn the surface. Furthermore, it didn't have quite enough cooking space for our needs. So, when I decided to UPGRADE a few of our kitchen appliances, a new indoor grill was at the TOP of the list. I searched Amazon for indoor grills that had the features that I wanted and needed and I came across this Hamilton Beach Electric Indoor Grill. It boasted ALL of the features that I was looking for. For one, it's stainless steel, it also has a temperature control setting, sizable and removable grill plate that's dishwasher safe AND a glass viewing window!! Also, the lid is an actual lid and does NOT come in contact with our food. I love that the lid is also removable, however, I wish the lid was dishwasher safe...But, unfortunately it is NOT. The drip pan is more of a "drip drawer," which I absolutely LOVE because I no longer have to worry about grease drippings on the counter. It is also dishwasher safe. The base of the unit is VERY EASY to wipe clean, which is another plus. So far, I have only grilled burgers on this grill. They were the BEST burgers that we've ever had using an indoor grill!! My Husband referenced how JUICY the burgers were, which I noticed and APPRECIATED as well. The burgers were cooked to PERFECTION with AMAZING grill marks, without being charred and dried out. I can easily fit 6 [1/3 pound] burgers on here, instead of only 2 at a time. I would HIGHLY recommend this item to anyone looking for a QUALITY indoor grill. Just keep in mind that the removable lid is NOT dishwasher safe, so you will have to clean it by hand. However, the lid is EASY to clean with hot soapy water. Also, be sure to check dimensions because this is a nice-sized grill and takes up a decent amount of counter space. The pros DEFINITELY outweigh the cons or should I say "con" with this item. Love it, love it, love it! I've grilled chicken, bacon, and hamburgers easily and with no smoke. Cleanup literally takes about five minutes if I wash by hand, but the grill plate can also be put in the dishwasher. I also think that it has great heat settings and the sear setting is a great added feature. I did my research and the Hamilton Beech offered the best value for my budget. ... show more

super easy to assemble. takes no time at all. also looks pretty good on the counter. heats up to 400 degree very quickly and it's great for cooking steak. cleaning was also very easy. definitely recommend for someone who doesn't want to deal with the complications and hassles of the standard charcoal or gas grills. very happy so far :-) thank you! ... show more

This grill is easy to use and heats up quickly. Food cooks evenly. I like that the drip tray is under the grill plate and is removal for easy cleaning. I gave the grill 4 stars because even though the grill plate is removal it is not easy to clean. The grill plate is slotted which allows for fat to drip into the drip tray but also allows for food to stick on the side of the slots. The last time I used it I sprayed it with cooking spray, even though the plate is supposed to be nonstick. That may have helped a little, next time I’ll do a better cook spraying between the slots and see if that helps with clean up. I’m also going to order an OXO electric grill brush to see if it makes cleaning easier. ... show more

Not a paid advertisement or anything, I just really like this grill. I'll admit it: I'm lazy. The last thing I feel like doing is babysitting some meat that is pan frying. I was also pretty unskilled when I bought this grill. My pan fried food never came out just like I wanted. So, I bought this grill. It's a godsend. Just select the correct temperature based on the little guidebook they give you in the instruction manual, flip it halfway through (and sometimes change the temperature), and you're all good to go. Once I started getting better at cooking, I especially appreciated how "set it and forget it" this thing was, because I started getting busy making sides and sauces. It makes cooking accessible when you're busy with other things in the meal. A few months ago, my doctor also informed my husband and I that we have borderline high cholesterol. We immediately stopped eating red meat and stopped pan frying completely. We started eating a wide variety of fish, which still works great on this grill. And it's a lot more healthy - if you cook something and pull out the drip tray after, you can see all the fat that came off in the cooking process. Yes, you can use a nonstick pan and avoid some of the added oil, but in the end, the meat is still frying in its own fat. The ease of cooking also made me more likely to cook at home and less likely to eat out (saving money and losing weight!) If I'm too stressed or busy, I know I can throw rice in my rice maker and meat on the grill (and some veggies in the oven if I'm feeling especially fancy) and dinner will essentially cook itself without much input. Just make sure you keep the little book guide for temperatures and times or write it down somewhere. Technically you can probably find it online, but I found it much easier to just have it in front of me. Eventually I started to memorize the contents. The book isn't super extensive (like, I had to search online for the temp and time for my thick swordfish) but a little research online and a meat thermometer will help. Best paired with a meat thermometer (the guide tells you the ideal meat temp) and that Dawn power spray stuff. I just throw the grill pan and drip tray in the sink, spray the crap out of it with the power spray, let it sit for a about five minutes, and rinse. Super easy clean up. The top half is also removable to easily clean. I clean it after every use, but technically you could probably get away with a few uses without cleaning. Basically, this enables busy or unskilled people to cook meat in a healthy way with ease. And if you're lazy like me, you will love it too. ... show more
