Just got a couple days ago just in time to use it on my brisket. First off it is a very beautiful knife handle looks and feels great. The knife is heavy built really well and well balanced very sharp sliced right through my brisket amd made thin slices. Comes in really nice gift box and packaged very well. Overall love it im thinking of buying a few more as gifts for my family. I'm the average home chef dad and needed a large knife to break a large rib roast into steaks. It came in nice, sturdy packaging. It was also nice and sharp out of the box as one would expect. The handle feels good in my hand but it does feel a little heavy. It is a large breaking knife so maybe that's normal. Overall I think it's a quality knife for a great price. ... show more

Sometimes when you see photos of a product you may like, they are deceiving. This knife surprised me even though the item was correct as advertised. SHARP, GREAT HANDLE (didn't slip around even with greasy hand), FULL TANG, and comes wit a sturdy plastic sheath to protect you from possibly getting cut when stored. Great value for the quality. I'm a chef who also does in-house butchering. I have "my knives" that have been with me for years that l cherish. Left my knives on a trip and needed a quick cimeter sent. This one wasn't high budget but wasn't low either. So, l took a chance. Packaged beautifully. Cleaning up a 1/2 pig was sensational and this knife is nice in the hand, a good balance and a sharp blade. It worked very very well and l won't lie, it's kind of my new favorite. It also went through prime rib like butter!! But remember, a new knife is usually spot on, but unless you take care of your knives, they will never treat you right in the long term. So, if you're looking for a medium priced knife thar will treat you right without hand lag... this is the one. And yes, a quick straightener brought this bad boy back to brand new once it was victimized during a butcher job. I now want to try all of their line. ... show more

Size: Slicing Carving Knife 12"
All my knives are Wusthof Ikon & Classic knives, except for two. My Mercer Culinary 6” boning knife and my Cutluxe Artisan 12” carving knife. I bought the Cutluxe because my 8” Wusthof carving knife wasn’t cutting it for large briskets and Dino ribs (no pun intended). I didn’t want to spend another $170+ for a 10” Wusthof, so I read the specs and reviews for the Cutluxe and decided to try it for under $50. I’ve had this knife for a year before I decided to write a review. What a FANTASTIC knife for the price. It is a forged full tanged knife and came razor sharp. It holds a good edge (56 RH compared to Wusthof 58 RH) I usually steel hone Cutluxe before each carve. I haven’t had to sharpen (take off metal) Edge at 14°-16° angle is comparable to Wusthof 14° blade angle. Also, handle is similar to Ikon Classic ergonomics. For less than $50, it’s a great knife at a darn deal!!! ... show more

We have several Cutluxe knives in our kitchen. My wife does more of the cooking prep than I do, and has pretty "experienced" knife skills. While there might be some conventional wisdom that females prefer a smaller, lighter knife handle and blade, I rethink that is grossly overblown, and probably sexist. When we first got a Cutluxe paring knife (and we have at least five paring knives of various sizes, ages and quality) I found my wife immediately gravitated to the Cutluxe paring knife. She commented on the heft of the handle and the level of security she felt using it. I like it too. Great build. So when we were looking for a brisket slicer, there was no question we would buy this 12" carver. Great knife, happy kitchen staff! We have also bought a Cutluxe utility knife that is almost as popular now as our favorite chef's knife. We also just got the cheese knife to sample and review. We think these knives are well priced and solid quality for any home cook. Highly recommended. ... show more
