Annoying to use...you have to practice since it falls apart and you have to key it twice to open it...then the shackle shroud....sometimes it doesn't want to close...wrestle with it...you'll look stupid but it'll eventually lock. I wouldnt get this if you normally mess with it. Unless you're in a bad part of town and the extra time fiddling with the lock justifies keeping whatever safe. Gotta ewetoob some tutorials to use it....lol....hard to pick....annoying to use...annoying learning curve....quality locks but...just the delivery...works good enough since the high pick difficulty is a factor. Could be easy like a butterfly kuh-nife but you best practice to use a freaking padlock..... ... show more

    • Very Secure
I've been using these locks for a bit now and they have performed well. Some users have reported difficulties with opening and even broken keys. It is true that these locks don't open as easily as a standard padlock but that's kind of the point. Isn't it? To open you turn the key clockwise about a quarter turn or so. That releases the shackle. Then you turn the lock around 180 degrees and turn the key back to the starting position and about a quarter turn anti clockwise. At this point the lock should come free of the shackle completely. To relock it simply do the steps in reverse. If you want the lock to function like a regular padlock simply remove the guard from the shackle and use as you normally would. Pros: A hard steel guard covers most of the shackle making cutting the lock off much more difficult. The complex unlocking sequence, while only somewhat cumbersome with the key, is a nightmare for picking (I've tried it). Cons: The lock has a learning curve but honestly not more than a few minutes of practice. Once you get it it's a piece of cake 🎂. The lock is probably a higher carbon steel. while this is good for cutting resistance it does make it more prone to rusting and if used outdoors will need periodic cleaning and maintenance. (I flush the lock with carburetor cleaner and swap with a cotton swab, then give it a generous lubrication with WD-40 or some equivalent) ... show more

The lock appears strong, easy to unlock with instruction video. Difficult to lock in less than ideal position. Package was open in box. Received used locks . Disappointed. Sent back. Will order different Camando locks.

It takes a few minutes to learn how to use these locks, but it's well worth the effort. Very, very little of the shaft remains exposed if you are able to use the shaft guard (in some cases that won't be possible, but not the case on my car hauler), and you can't accidentally leave the key in the lock once it's locked. ... show more

    • Rusted in a month! NOT weatherproof as advertised.
We are so disappointed in this product. After much research we decided to purchase these locks. After one month of using them to secure an enclosed trailer, the inside mechanism began to rust making it almost impossible to open the lock. Don’t waste your money.
