  • Heat and Massage are separate so can have them on or off and different levels
I am a male with bulging disks. I do manual labor and this Cordless Heating/Massage Pad is a life and job savior. The power used for this unit is a slim, small Power Bank unit. It comes with a cord but I have not used it. Input to charge the battery can be a type C or a micro USB. It does not come with a wall plugin but any device that a USB cable can connect to will work. The included cord appears to have a type A connection that can be used on most computers and many common, inexpensive wall plugin adapters. A complete charge, no charge to full charge, takes about 1 hour. I have used several charging methods and the longest has been about 1.5 hours. I can use the heat and massage for 4 complete cycles that last about 30 minutes each. The power bank will have enough charge to allow about 20 more minutes of use before turning off the unit. Regardless if I use heat, massage or both, the same amount of power appears to be used. The power bank has a zippered pocket where it is placed and connected to the pad. The pad connects to either of the type A USB connections on the power bank. During use, the power bank does get slightly warm to the touch but does not appear to be overheating. I use a back brace that helps support my lower and part of my mid-back which also assists in preventing me from bending over or straining my back. This head/massage pad fits just fine under this brace. The heat pad feels like it is the same size as the entire pad while the massage sections are just on the sides of the spine making the back brace go right between the massage sections. The vibrations from the massage vibrate on my back brace which also massages more of my back. 3 different massage settings. After holding down the button for about 2 seconds, the unit starts on the first setting, the button will turn green. The 1st setting is a pulse vibration. Clicking the same button will change this to the 2nd setting and the button turns amber. This 2nd setting is a constant vibration but alternates the intensity on either side. Pressing the button again will change the unit to the 3rd setting and the button will be red. This setting is my favorite because it combines the first 2 settings by alternating between them. Pressing the button again will change the massage back to setting 1 while pressing and holding for about 2 seconds will turn it off. The heat button operates the same as the massage button. Each of the 3 settings are hotter. I am not certain as to the actual temperature but only use the 1st setting at work. I have used the 2nd setting without my back brace on or while having anything pressing against my back as this will get too hot for my tolerance. This does come with a Velcro extension section for pregnant ladies or for anyone who needs a little more width to use this. I am not using this extension and my waist size is 43. The material is soft which is very nice. I am typically using this unit over my shirt, however I have tried it on bare skin for the massage; the heat was a little too much for me. I have shown this to other people while I was evaluating it and these people are looking at purchasing this unit. I highly recommend this for anyone with back pain. This is really nice as it is very "gender" neutral in appearance which also makes this very highly recommended. ... show more

  • Heated back brace – very comfortable
I’ve tried other back braces in the past and the one I like best had none of these features so I thought I’d give it a try. When I opened the package, it looked new however the Velcro on the belt looked used (see photo). It’s a bit off-putting to say the least but the rest appeared unused so I decided to ignore it and started reading the manual. It’s quite comprehensive and includes a lot of cautionary warnings. It starts with charging the power bank [PB] – easy enough. The manual estimates the charge time to be about 2.5 hours and I found it was slightly less than that, but not by much. According to the manual, when the PB is fully charged, the lights will remain steadily ON (they flash while charging) but after fully charging it, the lights were actually not illuminated at all. As a side note, the PB can also be used to charge other devices (per the manual). Anyway, the PB fits snugly into a pocket on the belt. Connect the PB to the pocket cord, zip the pocket shut and it’s ready for use. There are two separate buttons for heat and massage. There are three options on the heat setting. Press the buttons according to your preference and the belt will run for 30 minutes after which time it will automatically shut off. The massage feature is nice and is not overly strong. [I tried it on my bunny and he gave it a four-paw rating!] I set the heat option to high and didn’t find it to be all that warm. I’ve had heating pads that literally burned my skin but there is little risk of that even on the highest setting. I wore this belt for two back-to-back 30-minute cycles and found it to be very comfortable. One of the other braces I tried in the past was so heavy that when my back was tweaked, I couldn’t use it because the weight of it exacerbated the problem. This one is a comfortable weight and one of the best features is you’re not limited by the length of a cord. The free-range motion is the best! I like this brace. My only criticism is the highest heat setting is NOT all that hot. In terms of strapping this on over clothing, it should warm up more to penetrate any barrier between the belt and the skin. ... show more

  • Good vibration; decent heat; kinda cheap power bank
I have lots of cordless heating-pad belts, but this is the first one I’ve found that added a decent vibration function. The vibration is excellent; the heating function is average. There are three settings each for heat and vibration. I really like the setting that alternates the vibration continuously from left and right about 2x per second; it’s amazing. As for heating, the highest setting gets reasonably warm, but not hot. (That seems be common these days — few heating pads get as hot as they used to.) Of course, cordless is definitely the way to go. It’s sooooo nice not to be stuck next to an outlet! You can wear this belt while doing your normal activities. The belt is extremely comfortable to wear, it’s very easy to operate (one button for heating and one for vibration) and the zippered pouch for the power bank is a nice touch. The one area that could be improved is the power bank. The heating belt comes with a run-of-the-mill 5000mAh power bank and a micro-USB charging cable (but it can also be charged via USB-C). The power bank seems kind of cheap to me. At this price point ($59.99 at time of order), they could have been a little more generous and included a high-quality 10,000mAh power bank. Also, confusingly, the power bank has a label which says, “Please use our charging cable to avoid charging issues with the power bank.” Huh?!?! They included only a micro-USB cable, but the unit can also be charged via USB-C. (I charged the power bank with my own USB-C cable and it charged just fine.) If they had included a higher-quality power bank, this would have earned an extra star. Bottom line: If “pretty warm” is hot enough for you and you want the vibration function (which, again, is really nice), this is a good product at a somewhat high, but relatively reasonable, price. 4 stars. ... show more
