I'm only 4'10" and have bad knees. I was very uncomfortable sitting in the front seat of our car because I couldn't hold my legs at an angle. This pad is the perfect solution. I put it in the car with the curved portion facing the front of the car and the straight side facing me. Now I can hold my legs against the pad and it supports them. I was skeptical of this when I got it but I'm pleasantly surprised. I sit at my desk for long periods of time and I'm on the shorter side. This helped me be able to sit longer and in a more comfortable position. The quality is pretty good. I do wish was shaped a tad bit wider and with a wider longer top part if that makes sense. I was a bit skeptical that this would do anything for me, it's actually been very helpful. I have a bad habit of sitting cross-legged on my chair wall working. Obviously not great for your back or really any part of your body. This piece is comfortable and pretty easily adjustable to support better posture and awareness. I'm also able to use this when my desk is in standing mode to give my feet a little bit of relief and do some stretching if I need to. I will say in order to adjust you do have to hold it which is nice so that it doesn't accidentally adjust. However I could see it being a bit inconvenient for some people. ... show more

Provides great support for legs and options to flex and stretch knees , calves, ankles and feet when sitting depending on the position of the pillow that you choose. Very beneficial to have positional options and the foam is sturdy enough so it won’t collapse with use. I have knee arthritis and significant stiffness when sitting too long and other makeshift options with pillows and stools were inconvenient and overall not helpful. I ordered this foot rest to replace a foot rest I've used at work for the past several years. This particular foot rest, by Comfilife, was highly recommended by Wirecutter, which is why I decided to get it. I've submitted a photo of my old foot rest (on the right) vs. the one from ComfiLife (on the left). You will notice that there is a substantial height difference, with Comfilife being much higher. Note that it opens, so it can be used at a lower level (but it's flat). It took a day to adjust to the new, higher rest. But I've compensated by sitting a little differently in my work chair. It is sturdiness, yet soft. The covering can be removed and washed. I love the way it feels! It's definitely an upgrade from my original one. One other comment is that I chose the teardrop shape. I'm not sure how I feel about it. If done again, I'd likely get the classic. If I was at home in a more relaxed position, I might like the teardrop. But since I'm using this at work for ergonomic reasons, I'm not sure the teardrop shape is the best one. That being said, I'm very happy with my purchase. If you have back or hip problems at work, definitely consider getting a foot rest!! Once again, Wirecutter hasn't let me down with this recommendation! ... show more

    • This is a game changer for WFH peeps!

I had to jump on here and write a review because I can’t believe the difference this is has already made for me. I took a chance and purchased this foot rest during Prime Days. It was delivered the next day, which is already amazing to report. Anyway, I have never used one of these things before so I have nothing to compare this to. But, I am newly working from home and knew I needed to upgrade my whole desk situation fast as my current ergonomics are pretty bad. I took this foot rest out of the box and laid it on the floor with the plastic still on since I had no idea if I was going to keep it. However! WOW. This foot rest literally elevated my body and posture immediately. I could tell the fatigue in my feet disappeared only a few minutes into using it. I’m actually writing this review while still sitting in the same position! Anyway, something worth mentioning: I purchased a new seat cushion on Prime Days as well since my desk chair has seen better days. I kept hoping the cushion would feel comfy under my bum and thighs but it kept hitting me weirdly. So I began the process to return the cushion but realized that I had not tried the cushion out with the foot rest! So, I plopped the foot rest down on the floor and plopped the seat cushion in my chair. I sat down and BINGO! The foot rest immediately lifted my lower body to an appropriate position and height, and that new seat cushion feels amazing. It’s a perfect fit. I am ecstatic… it’s the little things, you know? I’m now keeping the seat cushion AND this foot rest. So before you return or throw out your cushions, consider elevating your body first with a foot rest! Also, another side note: it’s worth mentioning that of course this foot rest will vary per person, that's understandable. For reference, I am 5’4, weigh around 160 and have all of my lower body weight on this thing. It is solid. It is not sliding around. Also, my feet have good spacing between them and around them too as they rest on the foot rest. It is durable and high quality from what I can tell… and I am realizing that 20 minutes into this writing, the swelling in my legs is down! So please do yourself a favor: don’t overlook your lower back and feet when you’re setting up your desk at home. You really should consider purchasing something like this if you plan on sitting for hours. I’m going to buy one for my dear friend who just found out that she and her hubby are expecting their first child! I just know she’s going to appreciate feeling the immediate relief in her feet like I did. I hope this was helpful. ... show more
