This thing works really well, it sticks to the dash of my car and secures the phone even during rigorous riding. I do not think I’d trust it stuck to the motorcycle tank exposed to the wind resistance without a security strap (I’ve not tried it yet though). Oh, speaking of rigorous riding, this product is great for multitasking, it’ll stick to just about anything; it’ll even keep your phone from sliding off your girlfriends back while engaging in certain unmentionable activities, but a word of advice, it works best stuck between the shoulder blades just about at the base of her neck, it does not stick to hairy or overly curved surfaces like the back of heads and stuff (just FYI).     • Almost perfect mount to get your phone on the windshield
Not quite perfect. There is a learning curve to getting your phone in and out of the mount with one hand. If you have side buttons like power or volume, you may get frustrated when you accidentally trigger them while working the mount. Suction cup is huge, and sucks to the windshield better than an industrial vacuum. I've never had the mount fail. Mount was also narrow enough, and flexible enough to mount my phone as a dash cam. This was the main reason I got this mount, all the convenience of a go-pro using your existing hardware. Captured some great track video using just my phone. ... show more

    • Does NOT stick!
It stopped sticking after about 2 weeks of use with my Galaxy S6 (no cover, just the phone). It kept falling off the windshield and after the 4th or the 5th time, I've decided to not use it at all. The first couple of times it fell, I had my charger attached the phone and it fell on driver's side and went near the foot pedals creating driving hazard. After that, I switched the position more towards the passenger side and decided not to use the charger. No luck with that either! After about an hour or so, it fell again. It seems like a terrible waste of money and the frustration that comes with it. Would not recommend it. ... show more

    • Perfect for what I have and need.
I use this dash mount, with the use of my iphone 5S, to record my drives. Like a video black box. Just In case an accident happens I have everything recorded. My problem with window mounts and dashboard mounts, is there's no room. I drive a Jaguar XK that has a very low drag coefficient window...it slopes steeply toward the back. Result is not much room to mount things, dashboard and windshield are very close. I tried to mount a windshield mount, but it block my view to much. I tried a dash board mount, but the leather dash prevents anything sticking to it. Except this beast of a mount! It is well made, thick plastic, strong spring and housing, and excellent suction mount. This will stay secured to a rough surface dash. My Jaguar has rough suspension when put in sport mode and this little low profile mount stayed put. Awesome. I do recommend this item to my family and friends! ... show more

Directions say “fits a bit tight please give it a good press and it should pop right in”. It refused to go in. I pressed harder. Still wouldn’t fit. I put it against the table and pressed as hard as I could while trying to make sure it went in straight with even pressure from behind the ball stem. It “popped” or rather broke right off. One reviewer said it was too loose. This one was too tight. The manufacturing quality on their plastic molding is apparently not very good. UPDATE: I received a replacement from Amazon and it went together as it should (with just a bit of pressure). Seems to have enough friction to stay in place. Still manufacturing consistency seems spotty. The part that snaps into the Garmin barely fits but seems like it will work fine. Upgrading from 1 to 3 stars. ... show more

    • Better than anticipated.
I was initially concerned that this might not work with my LG G2, that it might break easily, and/or fall off my windshield after a few days like more expensive ones for other phones have done. But, for the price I thought it was worth a shot. I've had it for a couple of weeks now and it has remained firmly affixed to my windshield, is more durable than I thought it might be (don't misread this, it is not real high grade plastic and probably can/will break eventually, but definitely better quality than I anticipated), and I don't have to take my LG G2 out of its QuickWindow Folio Case when inserting it into the mount.     • Fits my LG G2 but gel melted to goo in the warm sun
While my LG G2 (with case on) fits in this holder, it's difficult to pry the jaws open to get the phone situated. Also, I'm not sure the base is a "gel" base as described. It seems to be a regular sticky pad. I had wanted to avoid a sticky pad in case I needed to remove it. The thing did come off my dash, but now it's not really sticky anymore. I had wanted to reposition it but I'm not sure it will re-stick. Update: Following the advice of the manufacturer, I cleaned off the gel pad and was able to re-stick the holder to my windshielf. Unfortunately, after a few weeks, the gel melted into goo during a warm day. The holder fell off the windshield, with the phone in, leaving half the sticky melted goo behind. Such a great deal! The best, cheapest dashboard cell phone holder! Bought a different one from Target at the same price and fell apart in days. This one, although no directions included, is easy to figure out. Don't go anywhere else or buy one for $30. This is a great steal.
