I’ve been using the robot litter box for about a year now, and overall, I’m really happy with my purchase. It has made cleaning up after my cat so much easier and keeps odors to a minimum. The self-cleaning feature works well, and the design is sleek and modern, fitting nicely in my space without being an eyesore. I have 2 cats, one of which is curious about everything, who’s adapted to it quickly. My other one is terrified and still just pokes her head into it, but won’t actually use it. I prefer them not to share a litter box anyways though so I am happy with this result. They are both between 11-12 pounds and fit comfortably inside the machine. I originally had the scoop free crystal litter self cleaning litter box that my skiddish one still uses. This one was more expensive up front, but has saved me a lot of money on litter in the long run. I personally empty out the little completely once a month and wipe the entire inside of the machine. My cat has always suffered from softer stools so it can get a little messy. Outside of that though, changing the liners is so simple. I recently had an issue with the control panel not working, and I have to say I am extremely impressed with the customer service team. They were prompt and efficient at troubleshooting and resolving my issue. Overall, this litter box has been a game-changer for reducing the hassle of cat care. I've had this litter box for a year meow. I ended up getting a second one I loved it so much. It's easy to use, and easy to clean, and the odor control is undeniable. I currently have eight cats living with me, and I supplement these two automatic boxes with one standard box. All the cats use these boxes, but I give them the option of a standard box just in case. I've found they tend to use these more often for their #2s, which is great for me, for keeping odor to a minimum and extending the time between emptying the waste drawer. I was planning on eventually eliminating the standard litter box, but since they primarily only use it for potty, it's actually a benefit to keep available without creating an odor issue. I also got the Catlink smart deodorizer to put in the waste drawer, and I've found that they are a good addition to a multi-cat house. The wifi setup and app were easy for me to figure out, and I never had an issue with getting them operational. I have several cats near the same weight, so it's not going to be able to accurately differentiate between my cats every time, but without Bluetooth collars, no automatic litter box could do any better until facial recognition becomes a feature added to these, which would likely cost a pretty penny and for me personally, isn't that big of a deal anyway. The cats love watching it rotate and clean, which is an adorable extra perk of this litter box. They congregate around and poke their heads in are always fascinated with it while it cleans. Going from standard litter boxes only to these was a game changer. The odor level around the litter box area in my house is non-existent with the exception of the few minutes right after someone makes stinky bears. I researched for a few months before buying this, and I was a little wary forking out so much money. The last automatic litter box I bought ended up being more work than a standard box, didn't control smell well at all, wasted a lot of litter every time it cleaned, and broke completely after just one year. I regretted buying it from day one. When I finally decided to go ahead and try this one, I was nervous. The first few weeks I had nothing but good experiences with it. I was waiting for it to reveal some aggravating flaws, but a year has passed, a second one is now added, and I've got nothing but good experiences to report. The deals available on this through Amazon are also great. Watch the deals and you can get this for well under $500 at times, which is a great price considering the average price of this style litter box. They are currently beginning production on a Catlink lite automatic litter box that has a smaller footprint and a different design but still a decent size to accommodate bigger cats. I've been so happy with this company that I went ahead and pre-ordered one to place on the other side of my house for an extra litter location and one for a gift for a friend. A year ago, I was so nervous to spend the money on an automatic litter box after my past experience with a different popular brand. I've been so happy with this product, this company, and their customer service that a year later I'm willing to preorder a newly designed litter box without any customer reviews to guide me. I know if there is an issue with their products, they will take care of it. They have proven themselves to be a very customer conscious company. I'm very happy with everything, both this company and this litter box. I hardly ever write reviews, but this is a company and product I am happy to support, financially and through word of mouth. I have had this item for 3 months now and have had no issues. The shipping box was huge, like 3ft tall, but it’s not very heavy. It comes with plenty of bags. I use one every 4-5 days for my 2 adult cats. The outlet plug only takes up half the outlet so something else can be plugged in. I liked that it didn’t hog the entire outlet. I ended up plugging a WiFi range extender into the other half of that outlet. This robot is quiet. I sleep across the hall from it (doors to the rooms open) and have never heard it. I read that the little plate at the bottom of the round entry opening can come off if the cats don’t like it. I didn’t remove mine. You have to press the button on it and cycle it once when you first plug it in. You have to do the initial set up in the phone app. After it is set up it will work without it being on the WiFi, so if the connection drops temporarily, it’s no big deal. Your phone is like the control menu. There are buttons on it to make it clean. There’s not a screen on it so the phone is needed for the menus and to get to the settings. My connection had been going in and out where my WiFi router was so far away, it wasn’t a problem, but I did get a WiFi range extender and it has since not lost connection. The phone alerts you when the bag is full but the indicator on it will also. To set it up, you need to have knowledge of using phone apps and connecting to wifi. ** when setting it up, It attempts a Bluetooth connection at first and for me, that failed, but it was okay. I followed the prompts for “manual connection” and it went on through the set up. WiFi set up was easy. ** It will be easy if you follow all the instructions. My signal was very weak in that room. I only got about 6mb on an internet speed test using my phone. It did take me 3 tries because of that weak signal. *** During WiFi connection, if you see a lock light up, no worries. Those 2 buttons lock and unlock the control panel (I guess to keep kids from pushing buttons on it) as well as do the wifi connection. Pushing them again makes the lock go away. It took approximately 5-1/2 lbs of litter to reach the max line. I think I need the entire max for my 2 cats because one is a big guy. If you go past the max line when filling it just gets wasted. You have to cycle after filling and I saw where a lot of mine went in the waste bag where I overfilled it. I put that back in my litter supply. So don’t go over the max. There are 2 settings menus- profile> settings where you set units to lbs and farenheit. There’s the settings under the cat box device (three dots). I posted the list of what all is in there. TIP: If you set it to automatic cleaning, if you set it for 15 min after the cat leaves, the poo is more firm and won’t end up sticking to anything. There is a way to calibrate the weight under device settings > more settings. I did it upon setup with 4 cans of soda. When I first got it, I took their old cat boxes away and put this one near where those were. I put a short step stool up against it but when my cats got used to it, I took the stool away. The first day, one of my cats showed interest in it and snooped around in it. The other one was grumpy, he didn’t like me bothering him when I showed it to him. I scratched their paws in it. They knew where it was and went to it when they had to go. It took about 6 hours. It saves money on litter and significantly keeps the dust down. I get the case of FS cat litter that has 4 smaller bags. I have used 2-1/2 cases of that. ... show more
