I got this scooter for my 8 year old grandaughter to use at my house but held off giving it to her as she has 2 scooters at her house & 2 new bikes..one at her house and one at my house. Well she spotted the box in my garage and wanted to see it. I thought we'd have some assembly to do on this scooter & her dad was ready to leave but she excitedly took it out of the box, adjusted the handle bars and it was actually ready to ride. We didn't adjust the height but in the future can do that as she grows. She had it unfolded & was zooming down the sidewalk in minutes. We both loved the purple and pink color, the kickstand and she knew how to break on it. I totally forgot that the wheels, stem and deck light up which she will love. I tried to put batteries in the box under the deck but had no luck with the screwdriver I was using. Then I noticed in the bag with the carry strap a screwdriver came with this foldable scooter. I unscrewed the battery box except I unscrewed 3 screws and only 1 was necessary to unscrew. I put in the three AAA batteries and the stem & deck lights came on after pressing the red button behind the front wheel but not the wheel lights. Found the instruction booklet after doing all of this. There is a wire inside the battery box that kept the 3rd battery from laying flat. I pushed the wire inside a groove I saw in the box but still that 3rd battery didn't seem to lay flat enough. No lights come on now or I would have taken a photo of the lights. 2 hours later I give up. Have to let my son look at it cause it shouldn't be that difficult to get batteries in the battery box to make the lights work. That 8 yr old loves this scooter & she goes in the garage to get it the moment she gets here so it gets 5 stars. If my son has problems getting the batteries to work, I'll be back to to update this review to take away a star. UPDATE. MY 5 STARS STAND. My daughter checked the batteries & placement. Sure enough..just as she thought, the wheels have to be spinning for those lights to flash. When you turn the deck & stem lights on when the scooter is stationary only those appear but as soon as you take off and the wheels spin..it's a cool light parade until you press them off with the red button. ... show more

My daughter has been a scooter champ for years on her 3 wheel scooter, with this new addition from BELEEV, she has graduated to a 2 wheeler!!! And she did so in style! One really great feature about this scooter is that it folds up. This is great for trips where we want to bring along as it easily packs for car travel. This folding capability is also the main downside as it does create a little less stability in sections (especially when turning). Another plus is the wide footbed which allows my wife to give this a try! Yes, not just for kids anymore!! It is rated for 220 lbs, but I am not willing to test that! The lights are cool and do provide some additional safety when using outside at night as it creates additional visibility. (Batteries required). Lots of height options are available so it will grow with your kiddo. Lastly, the kickstand is fun, but also needed given this is a wheeler. Minimal assembly and setup required. Overall, a solid gift option for your favorite scooter riding kiddo looking to graduate to a 2 wheeler! ... show more

edit: After a few weeks of use... This scooter is actually universally enjoyed by many family members. The big wheels will even allow you to ride through firmer grass and dirt (with a little effort) as opposed to the typical tiny wheels, making this thing MUCH more useful than normal scooters. We live by thorn trees, so the fact that the wheels are solid are also a plus. Also, no one has yet flown over the handlebars, so it apparently just takes a little practice to get comfortable with the scooter. Still feels a touch rickety, but it's been a joy to use so far. Upgrading from 4 to 5 stars. Original Review: So, I have ridden another version of a scooter with big wheels, and that other one seemed a bit more substantial. This one LOOKS like a big-kid scooter, but the build quality is not solid and tight like the other, brand name one that I've tried. I'm an average built- 6 footer and this seemed just a little bit sketchy when taking turns. Maybe it's the angle (or not angle) of the fork that is contributing, but whatever it is, it just seems a bit squirrelly and tippy, like a wrong turn of the handlebars at the wrong moment and I would get chucked over the front. The other big-wheel scooter that I tried was much more confidence-inspiring. It's probably better for smaller people. The big wheels are still an upgrade over the smaller ones, but the build quality on this is not tops, also the "shock absorption" - looking accordion rubber thing does not actually cushion anything. It is just a rubber boot over hardware that does not give.. at all... The flashy lights also are just extras and I didn't bother to mess with them. Like what kid says, "I want to go outside and stand on my scooter and turn the lights on?" No, they care about RIDING the scooter. If it's sketchy, they don't care whether their scooter is flashing all the colors of the rainbow if they are currently busy flying over the handlebars into some roadside bushes. lol! If it's on a good sale, it may be worth it, but not if it's closer to 80 bucks. ... show more

This scooter has been an instant hit with my kids. They've long ridden the regular scooters, and they have also eyed with envy these large-wheel scooters. And this one has lived up to the bill. It's easy to ride and smooth, and it's reinvigorated their interest in rides, tricks, etc. The LED lights are fun, though we don't use them much, because how much scootering do we do in the dark: not much. But they have still enjoyed that part. And the fold-up mechanism is a great feature, as it allows is to easily pack this on longer trips or throw it in the back for a trip to the skate park. Satisfied. The quality seems very good, the handles are adjustable and comfortable to use. This is a very good scooter for all ages. ... show more
