  • Comparison with an Aquila S3
Saw this at a discounted price because it was refurbished. I had never bought a refurbished electonic because the thought of annoying warranties and sending back to manufacturer never seemed worth it but because amazon returns are easy, I pulled the trigger after my Aquila S3 died (my fault btw). Some others have mentioned that they think their machines were just factory ones that maybe didnt meet quality control at first. I can say that the only blemish on mine was a thin scratch on the bottom. Otherwise it looks and works like brand new. Some purple filament was coming out when I loaded my orange one, so someone DID use this but I'm guessing they maybe used it for a month, decided it wasnt for them, and returned it or Ankermake just kicks ass with their refurbs. I've only had this a week so something could still go wrong but I think I'm out of the woods. I've done a handful of prints, maybe like one a day, that all came out well. If you're a beginner I suggest this machine over the Aquila S3 or similar even though those are cheaper. The price difference is worth it. -Double the print speed of the Aquila S3 and other printers even at this price point. (the slow print speed was my biggest complaint about the S3) -way better build quality -way easier to put together (literally less than 20 mins between unboxing and starting it up, the Aquila S3 and other ones at that price point take longer and theres more room for error. ) -way better bed adhesion -smoother finishes -I was worried I was going to miss having a screen on the machine but the Ankermake Windows program and phone app lets you print through wifi which I found out i REALLY like. No more having to mess with SD cards which I was constantly misplacing. -Above mentioned software is just as good, if not better than the Aquila S3 -Its a tiny bit quieter thanks to everything being encased. Only negative I can think of is that I wish it was built in a way that was upgradeable because now I want this but with a bigger print bed haha ... show more

  • Amazing Printer !
I have owned many 3d printers over the years, and this is by far the simplest and most accurate printer to use. When filament breaks (and it does with every printer from time to time,) you don't lose your print, it pauses and waits for you to fix the filament. It also self levels. All this goodness for an affordable price. What is not to like ? ... show more

  • These appear to be factory blemished units, not refurb
Box had never been opened before, missing one foot on the bottom (no impression in the foam in the box, so missing foot since factory) and the plastic taps on top of vertical posts on both sides are cracked/damaged a little bit, but it's just cosmetic. Other than that, it appears brand new, never used, and works great. There was a $40 off coupon when I purchased, making it $229. I would not purchase this at the $269 price, you're ahead to spend $30 more and get brand new. ... show more

  • Seems solid.
Update: Finally got the account created so it is working fine. I still think requiring a login to use it is not customer centric. Looks like it is a quality built product. Unfortunately, it won’t work without creating an account which, to this point is impossible to do. Very dissatisfied.

  • Great first time printer
Picked one of these up the other day because the "real" version was on sale and this had a big coupon. Box arrived, the product was brand new and there was a box tear. This is my first 3d printer, so as far as I can tell it prints great. Assembly was easy and printing an object is straightforward. I downloaded a bunch of models to start, and grabbed Fusion 360 and am starting to learn. But as a printer this thing's been great. ... show more

  • Bought refurbished - looks brand new
I thought I'd take a chance on this refurbished 3D printer. It looks brand new. No missing accessories. It prints great. I've made about 30 prints with this since it arrived 4 days ago and not a single failed print. I've had experience with several 3D printers in the past 5 yrs and all my older printers needed tons of tweaking, but the Ankermake M5C needed no tweaking at all, its just prints everything I've sent to it. Don't bother using Ankermake's slicer...it leaves a lot to be desired. Use prusaslicer instead. ... show more

  • Best Starter Printer
This was the first printer I bought for myself. I run Prusa Minis and Prusa M3s as well as Fusions at work and love those printer but this Anker Make M5C is so awesome! My kid loves printing and after teaching simple basics she’s able to make almost anything from the app. There are a few things your need to use the desktop version for but that’s more for me. I am saving up to buy a second one now. Don’t hesitate just buy it! ... show more
