UPDATE: 8/24 I forgot to mention that this fan doesn’t remember the setting from previous use. Each time you turn it on, it goes back to the lowest setting and the oscillator is off. Also, each time you use the remote, you have to push the button twice. Once to wake up the computer that receives the signal and once to change the setting you’re trying to change. You also have to aim the remote directly at the front of the fan. It doesn’t want to receive a signal from anywhere else. I just put this together and played with it a while. Here’s the good and less than good. GOOD: It blows a nice breeze. I’ve been using a tower fan and didn’t realize how much better this would be. The dual blades work well. It’s relatively quiet. I like that. If you’re going to use it while you sleep or you just don’t want to turn your tv volume to 300, this is nice. Assembly was fairly easy. No big bag of screws or special tools. You’ll need a Phillips screwdriver for one screw that attaches the front to the back of the housing. That’s it. NOT AS GOOD: The display is partially covered by the bottom of the fan cage. If you’re sitting in front of it, you have to duck underneath to see what lights are on. Speed, mode, timer, etc. The remote is much bigger than my remote for my tower fan. Doesn’t seem necessary. It’s going to take up way more space when I go to store it in winter. The base is pretty big. MIGHT BE GOOD OR BAD: The oscillation speed is pretty quick. It’s about 90° and there’s no pause at either end. It just goes back and forth and there’s no adjustment for distance or speed. Overall, it’s nice for the price so far. ... show more

This fan is a great value and exceptionally well made. It’s relatively quiet and with the remote, makes it convenient to use. Fan speeds are adjustable 1 to 12 so getting it just right is easy. Would definitely recommend!

After furiously returning a heavy-ish German brand recommended by a news channel - their top pick for pedestal fans - which cost way more and literally fell apart within hours, I own 2 of these 12 speed fans now and I'd buy another. Being a year round fan of fans, what I like: - Sensible, easy, assembly - Sturdy without being silly-heavy. Also the fan part doesn't have a huge depth. - The light on the pedestal goes off when you are changing settings, so finally I don't have to add layers of tape to cover up an annoying light. It's on for a minute then shuts off. - Wide oscillation - Clean minimal design. Pleasing on the eye (I bought white) - Reasonable price - the German one that fell apart was over 100$ and still was wimpy as far as air flow! - It actually has power. Don't know if it's the dual blade design or what. So fed up with wimpy fans - at speed 9 and up, for me, it's getting up there with a true "turbo" fan. Kudos to Amazon for that. - Didn't think I'd need 12 speed settings, but I use them all more than I thought I would. Also the side knob and remote both work fine and I use both. I don't need anther lighted remote, thanks to the design and wider spaced buttons I can work the remote by feel, which is very sensible. - It's louder on higher settings, but I run fans non stop, even in winter so fan noise doesn't bother me. But it's nothing like my Lasko tower turbo fan that sounds like a jet engine at the highest level. Love, love this fan. Kudos to the design team for this one, and for finally delivering a fan with power as opposed to the wimpy ones I've tried (most of them, except outright industrial fans). ... show more

I read reviews before purchasing and saw that most complaints were about the beeping and difficulty putting the fan together. I’m 27 and found the fan very easy to put together, without opening the instructions. It took me about ten minutes. Make sure you open everything in the box! I almost through out the smaller blade. Fan works great. I can feel it on speed one from across the room. Good white noise. It’s not noisy at all. The beeping would be great if you could turn it off, but it’s not bad.
