The reviews of knives all want a full tang which this has. Sturdy rivets. Non round handle to avoid slipping. Good Steel. High Carbon, but not so much it is brittle. So many of the high end knives can't be used for everyday cutting since this would chip the edge. The fancy unsymmetrical angle of sharping also means it can be difficult of left handed use. This knife is balance at the front bolster where the index finger holds the knife. It is heavy for good cutting and not so heavy as to be manuverable. It arrives pretty sharp and seems hard to sharpen, but then it is hard to dull. It is important to have everyday chores become easy, even fun and this helps in preparing and cooking meals. I will know more once I have used and learned to sharpen it well. ... show more

This is a very well made knife- rivaling some of my nicer name brands. I bought two for gifts for the holidays and they did not disappoint. Comes sharp and ready to use out of the box! And at this price point you don’t have to take my word for it, you can try one for yourself. The knife was really inexpensive so I'd say it's a great starter knife but the steel is a little soft. I was cutting through chicken bones and the edge didn't hold up (see picture). But that said, the handle is really nice, it's well balanced and has some heft (that's why I was using it to cut up the chicken thighs). I will sharpen it and it will be fine for cutting vegetables and other soft foods. ... show more
