  • Lightweight and versitile
Color: Arctic Navy Size: Medium
I adore this jacket! I've been living car-free for about 5 years now, and in Colorado, that's means biking through sun, rain, wind, snow, hot, cold, and hills. When I first started, that meant buying a vast array of specialty outerwear to throw in my panniers. Poncho, rain pants, fleece pants, leggings, warm jacket, light jacket, wind gloves, rain gloves; really, the works. Size-wise, I am an athletic 5'10", 150lbs or so, and the medium fits me basically perfect. These days, that's all over with. I barely even check the weather anymore, unless it's supposed to be really cold out. If it's actually currently raining when I leave, might wear swim trunks, but otherwise this jacket and some kind of neck wrap like a buff are all I need (plus winter miscellany like gloves and hats). Sometimes heavy rain will splash in through the neckline, otherwise, I wouldn't even need the buff. Varying the pit zips and front zipper provides enough ventilation that I don't get sweated out unless I'm climbing a real monster hill. The jacket handles wind, rain, and snow excellently. It can be quite warm but not on it's own, you really need some base layers, that said I don't often find myself needing a real overcoat (especially doing something active like hiking or biking). It's light enough that sun isn't a problem unless it's a bright warm day where you don't need the jacket anyway. I have worn this for trips to the grocery store at 10°F, all the way up to 25 mile circuits in pouring rain, warm, dry (well, everywhere that needs to be dry, anyway ;)) and comfortable the whole time. ... show more

  • Prime Try before you Buy Success
Color: Arctic Navy Size: X-Large
This was the first product I tried with the Prime Try before you Buy program. It had amazing success and took the stress out of buying clothing from the internet. The product itself is great and is my first Marmot product. Ecstatic about the buy!

  • Great rain jacket - read full review to know how to keep it that way.
Color: Arctic Navy Size: X-Large
I feel like the fit is good. I got an XL to put over top of layers when it is cold. It's also great for summer rain storms because it is very light and not nearly as hot as others. I never use an umbrella anymore. It sheds water very well with proper care. I made the mistake of washing this without educating myself first. You can't use liquid detergent or fabric softener or it loses it's ability to shed rain. I got a detergent and restorer combination but it is not quite as good as new. It lasted 9 years with my neglect. You are supposed to wash it but just do your research to keep it like new. I loved it so much, especially for fishing in the rain, that I just ordered another one. I use mine constantly! Great product! ... show more

  • An old friend reborn
Color: Brick Size: Large
I had a precip jacket that I used for backpacking and daily wear. It finally wore out and I bought this new one. I am so happy that it is the same quality as the old one. The old one lasted for over 10 years and hopefully this one will too.

  • Not Waterproof ~ Wasted Momeyy
Very upset because Jacket, spec. the arms are not waterproof. Bought the jacket for my husband who runs at least 7 miles every day. It was important to him that jacket is waterproof; however, the 1st time he tried out this new jacket he come home very disappointing because it was only lightly raining and his arms were wet. Unfortunately, due to a family emergency; we were not able to return the jacket in time vor a replacement or refund so now we own a jacket that my husband can’t use. ... show more

  • All I expected from a rain jacket
I found some good advice online before buying this that “no jacket is going to be breathable or rainproof with a pack on your back” - and recommended this steady Marmot classic. Many rainy hiking days later, I’m not disappointed. Has the right features to get you through!
