It comes with a free app where you could change the color or pattern. You could also set up auto timer, so that once it's set up you don't need to worry about turning it on or off again. I bought the 300 foot lights, thinking that they were one continuous string. They are not. They come in 2 separate 150 foot lengths that plug into the same port. Ultimately, this was not an issue for me, as a found a work-around that actually was better for me. The lights are fairly bright, and are easily visible at night. During the day, they are practically invisible. Putting them up was a bit of a chore. It is IMPORTANT that the material to whatever you are affixing the lights to must be CLEAN; Whether it be fascia, siding or whatever. I'm not so sure how well these would adhere to wood. It is also important to use the clips that come with it. They need to include more of these, and I had to 3-D print some more. The lights seem to adhere well (with the clips), and have withstood several high winds, with no indication of coming off. The app to control the lights is not terribly user-friendly, and there was a lot of trial-an-error to figure it out, as the directions are minimal and not very helpful. The remote control is a little easier to figure out. There is not much versatility to the color of lights. For instance, during Halloween, I wanted to put on an orange/purple theme. Unfortunately, I could not. It only comes with a few pre-programmed light options. You cannot make up your own. For this reason, I give this 4 stars, rather than 5. ... show more
