This product is nearly perfect and I hope you will get one or more sets as well! This green model is very bright, eye-catching, and a lot of fun to experience when the sun is down. At the time that I received this product I also had ordered the version that cycles through multiple colors. Both are excellent products and you will have to decide which is the right one for you. The big difference is that the singular color lights had two modes: On/Off -- or blinking. I find myself appreciating the blinking mode a lot more often than I had anticipated and was disappointed that the color-switching one (while beautiful to behold) is only On or Off. You can read my review over on that model. As a (pre-pandemic) daily bicycle commuter, I found the side-illumination these afforded my tires to be invaluable for peace of mind. My rear-facing tail light and 1000 lumen headlight have long been staples BUT bicycling through an intersection always caused me to wonder whether the cross-traffic would notice me. Drivers are rarely on the lookout for cyclists where I live. I feel like these wheel lights changed my visibility to cross-traffic in a big way and I was very pleased to have them on anytime I was out pre-dawn or post-dusk. I even appreciated using them in flashing mode under the presumption that they may just give a little more visibility during the morning or evening commute when the sun was still up. The installation process isn't ideal and I found it a little more difficult and worrisome than I had pictured. I found the tiny bulbs (like regularly-spaced dew on grass) to get in the way of twisting around my spokes and did not always feel like the wrapping was going well. It left me worried that I had or would damage them during the installation process. However, the material turned out to be remarkably durable and I was grateful that my 700C wheel fit the product perfectly for one trip around the outer rim. If I had a smaller wheel (or wanted to install on a kids bike) I imagine the number of trips around would feel tedious and a bummer that there aren't shorter versions available. Or maybe it looks extra cool to have layering of the bulbs. The battery life on these are fair. In the cold weather they obviously take a hit but in general it seems like it would be 3 months of daily use in warm weather and 2 months in the winter. The usage period is likely longer but I have not kept very good track of battery life to report properly. Regarding maintenance, if you get your bicycle tuned up, these little lights will likely have to be worked around as the bicycle mechanic trues the wheel spokes OR if you hang your bicycle by the wheel, they will likely be an annoyance to you. But there isn't any interaction with the lights (hopefully) when changing a tube. It feels like once they are installed they pretty well stay where you put them. I've had a few times where I wished that the lights were capable of being more cemented in place but in general I haven't messed with their positioning along the spokes. Expect there to be at least a little movement, though, from where you install them. So yeah, I am a huge fan of the bike wheel spoke lights and I can only hope that the innovations will be able to continue and keep this product improving as it matures. I received my Activ Life Wheel Lights two pack on May 27, 2020, thatโ€™s just over 6 weeks ago for those trying to do the math. The packaging was identical to what is shown here on Amazon. After watching the installation video on YouTube, which was very easy to follow, I immediately installed them on my bike as directed except for one difference; instead of snipping off the excess lights after going around my 27โ€ wheels once, I simply reversed the direction till all the lights were used. I freaking love these Activ Life Wheel lights, they give me more visibility both day and night while out cycling so that everyone sees me more easily when crossing intersections and making turns, which is why I purchased them. A headlight is most useful in allowing you to see forward (at night) and on-coming traffic and those backing out of parked spaces (both night and day) seeing you easier especially in blinking mode. A rear (red) light is for vehicles approaching you from behind. These front and back lights really donโ€™t help much in being seen from the side; that the void that these Activ Life Wheel lights fill the void, more so when used in flashing mode. These wheel lights are a fantastic compliment to the Vastfire 1000 lumens dual bike headlight and rear light that I purchased also here on Amazon; both of which I use in flashing mode. Even though I typically wear very bright bike shirts (usually florescent yellow or bright safety orange), in order to be seen more easily, drivers are still often oblivious in not seeing me cross right in front of them or when turning; something I just donโ€™t understand. Well, since I installed these Activ Life Wheel Lights (I got the green colored ones) along with my other bike lights, I am now visible 360 degrees day and especially at dusk and night. Often while out riding, people yell out something nice to me related to these blinking green wheel lights, many stare with a smile on their face, and two have nicknamed me the Christmas Tree Rider. I am so much happier and a whole lot safer when out riding with these Activ Life Wheel Lights because of being seen easier instead of vehicles, other bike riders, and even pedestrians not seeing me; itโ€™s a Win-Win for everyone instead of dangerous encounters. On several occasions I have had people ask me where I got my lights and have always taken the time to share the information with them so we can all ride more safer on our bikes. One woman named Alicia, who I met in my community while we were both riding our bikes, asked me for the info to buy herself and simply just shared the link from my Amazon past purchase history from my cell phone; she bought the blue colored lights. Since having these wheel lights on my bike, I have not had any close encounters with anyone and hope I never do. Itโ€™s easy to see the positive effect these lights have in keeping me safer while out riding; when vehicles start to come towards me; they quickly stop because the bright LED blinking lights get their attention quickly. Humm, do I recommend these Activ Life Wheel lights, absolutely yes without any hesitation. Unlike other similar lights, these come with not a one-year warranty but a lifetime warranty if anything should go wrong. Before I made my purchase, I read lots of reviews and anytime a customer had a problem they shared, Activ Life replied with something to the effect of no problem, we will send you out a replacement. Like most companies, this one does not manufacture their products, but they do stand behind them if you ever have any problems, I really like that and am extremely happy with my purchase and so will you! My son, my daughter and I all have Activ Life LED Bike Lights on our bikes. We have been customers for close to 5 years now and it has been a great experience. The colors that we have are the patriotic lights, the rainbow lights, the multi color lights (which is in the photo), and we recently purchased the blue lights for my son's 2nd bike since he has now out grown his 1st bike which still has the patriotic lights on them. Be prepared to take at least 30 minutes to put a strand of lights on a 12 inch, 14 inch or 16 inch bike if you are trying to have a light on each spoke. The 20 inch bike and 26 inch bike only took me 25 minutes because I did skip a spoke between each light and b/c the wheels are bigger it's easier to put them on. There is also a life time warranty which is absolutely perfect incase you need to replace a strand. When I tried to switch my daughter's lights from her 12 inch bike to her 16 inch bike both of my strands broke, so I wouldn't recommend removing a strand to put on another tire. They take AAA batteries and they do have a really good battery life. We use rechargeable batteries and they work perfectly with the lights. We also purchased the Disco Lites to match and my kids were happy with them too. Lastly, the customer service is helpful and quick to respond to emails. We get compliments all the time when riding in the neighborhood and it was worth the time and money that we have invested, not to mention that they also help for safety reasons. These lights are great once you get them on - here is the challenge - they are on a very fine string which breaks way to easy - and once that happens they are done. You have to have alot of patience and steady hands. - We were dissapointed with that aspect.
