This bag of tools helps me be more self-sufficient. I can put on and take off my shoes and socks at will, put on blouses and jackets, lift my leg and guide it into a car or truck, and scrub my back. I can pick up things from the floor as well as lightweight items from cabinets and shelves. Those are all easy tasks for most of us, but when worn-down, arthritic knees, hips, and shoulders are added to the equation, those simple tasks become major obstacles. Another bonus is that I will probably not have to go to rehab after my next knee surgery. Going straight home is a psychological win; it means I can take care of most of my ADLs without much help.     • The Shoe Horn Long Handle & Dressing Stick broke very easy
I'm satisfied with 4 of these 5 tools. The "Shoe Horn Long Handle & Dressing Stick" is BAD - it broke where the shoehorn screwed into the pipe that also connects to the 'dressing stick'. It actually broke twice - the remnant was long enough to keep using - then it broke again! I like the Reacher/Grabber a lot, the 'Sock Aid Device' works very well, the Leg Lifter works great, (especially compared to one that does not have a stiffener in it), the Bath Sponge works fine. Since there are 5 tools I gave it a 4 out of 5 stars. ... show more

    • Needed more than I knew!
I had my hip replaced and I didn't know how much I would need these items! Especially the grabber, the shoe horn, and the stick that helps you pull your pants up! They're terrific, quality made, and very helpful.

    • Great purchase for after you have hip surgery
It was kind of a shock to me when I found out that I had to have my right hip replaced. So, in an attempt to be completely ready I ordered this set. One item in particular was very helpful. When it is all screwed together in the order they were intended to be used, one end was very helpful in taking off the sock on the foot where the hip was replaced and the other end has a shoe horn to help slide my foot into a moccasin that I wear around the house. After 4 months, I've put nearly everything back in the bag that it came in except for the long device with a shoe horn on it. I still need it when I put on some new tennis shoes that I haven't had long enough to break in. ... show more

    • Handy post op kit
I bought this in anticipation of hip surgery. In the old days used to get these items preop from physical therapy preop. Oh, well. Decided I needed to help myself. Not overly priced for number of items. There a dressing with a hook on one end and handy shoe horn on the other end. This is made of a sturdy plastic. The sock helper is helpful when not able to bend down to put on sock. The fluffy washer on a wooden stick has come in handy, easy take a shower post op without compromising hip surgery. There is a "leg mover" which I didn't need but is helpful to get in and out of car, bed etc. It is sturdy. My favorite item is the grabber, quite an improvement over ones of years gone by. Very sturdy with the business end able to pick up just about anything precisely. This is vital to use to avoid hip dislocation. And everything seems to fall to the floor when you can't bend over to pick it up. So grateful I have this. I suspect I will use this way into the future for other purposes such as spring cleanup outside or getting things from upper cabinets. All most forgot to mention this comes with a nice nylon bag to store everything until needed again. I would reccomend this kit for post op surgery. ... show more

I cannot tell you how helpful this has been after spinal surgery! The only thing I didn't use was the bath brush. The sock thing is genius. The shoehorn with hook is priceless, I use it multiple times per day! The grabber is great! I bought a second one so that I have one on each side of the house. I used the leg grabber as a handle to help roll over in bed and that worked perfectly! This is just an amazing kit! ... show more

    • All good except the sock aid
The items were all functional and per the picture advertised; however, the sock aid is not well designed and not effective for most needs. I bought this for my Mom, post hip replacement, and we found the sock aid to be sized for a giant. The sock aid was totally worthless for my Mom with size 7 feet and size small socks and stockings. It is hard plastic, so it could not be adapted to different size socks and none of my Mom's stuff fit on it. In fact, we damaged items trying. There was a flexible, softer version of the sock aid she had used in rehab that I found and bought separately. If you aren't a buying for a really big human with really big and loose socks then that part of this kit won't work for you. ... show more
