Most of these are much more finely cut than I am used to. I typically prefer fatwood to be portioned into pieces with a bit more girth. That said, I reckon a 10lb box of fatwood is ten pounds of fatwood regardless of whether the pieces are cut to one’s preference or not.

The media could not be loaded. 10lb Fatwood Pine Firestarter came in a good strong cardboard box for storing long haul. This 10lb box will last me 5+ years if I use it properly, and I burn fires nearly everyday 6+ months of the year, here in Northern Michigan and camp/backyard fires often in the summer months. Woodstove heat is my primary heat source during the colder parts of the year. It only takes a handful of slivers of Fatwood to start a fire. This is good stock Fatwood too. It took less than 6 minutes from slivering the fatwood to having a sustainable fire able to handle larger logs. Once I get a woodstove fire going it stays going for several weeks. I don’t have to start another one until I clean my stove pipe, which I must do monthly. If needed I could start a fire with a full fatwood stick or two straight to full-size logs, but I like to stretch it out by just using slivers to start a stick fire to build on. 6 minutes isn’t that big of deal to me. Full disclosure -- I received this product for review through the Amazon Vine program. I really did not realize how much 10# of this fire starter was. It is a LOT. The box is larger than it appeared to me in the ad. Using only 2-3 at a time this will last me for several winters. The fatwood sticks light easily and burn for much longer than I expected making getting a fire started an easy process. ... show more

These work great!! I put a couple pieces in my firepit with a couple of logs and I have not had to restart it yet. Going on an hour so far. So far so good really impressed with these. I have no complaints definitely would recommend.

What is not to like? They are nice sized, light easily and come in a huge (10lb) package for a reasonable price. I did not try to see if they light while wet, but they do light easily and burn well. Makes starting a fire in my smokeless firepit easy.

It is soon to be the season for keeping a nice fire going in the backyard. I am always looking for kindling to start the fire and this is perfect. These light super fast allowing you to get to enjoying the fire. This was a great price for kindling that flames up easily. I am glad I got this.
