This fan is just what I was looking for. There were things that I always disliked about my old kitchen fan and finally found a nice upgrade. The old lights flickered occasionally. It was large and loud and hung very low so I had to remove most of the chains to keep from bumping into them. Aside from the noise, the crumbling wire insulation just made me nervous, and it was very heavy. This fan is very sleek and lightweight. I was worried about the power but it moves enough air for my needs. The flush mount is way better than the pendant type, though I do hear a little clicking and wobbling, it's still way quieter. This flat style LED light with variable color temperature is bright enough for my kitchen as well. I was a little worried because my old fan had 3 sockets for regular light bulbs and I wanted something comparable, but this is bright enough and should last for ages. There are no chains to bump into, the color matches my appliances, and best of all, the remote!!! It's so controllable with 6 speeds, and it reverses without having to flip a switch on the fan itself. I'm sure I'll use the timer function as well. I'm really very satisfied with this great fan and the listed price is excellent as well for being made of wood and metal instead of mostly plastic. This fan is more than your standard ceiling fan and comes with a bunch of features. The light has adjustable temperatures. There's 6 fan speeds, but I find it strange that if I press 1 for the slowest speed it will spin fast then slow down. Must be a RPM sensor or something. It comes with a remote or you can use an app with bluetooth. There's no traditional pull chain so this does not use a separate switch, but rather the main light switch. When turning off the switch, it will remember the last light setting you had but the fan will always be off by default. ... show more

Install was pretty straight forward. Light kit could stand to be brighter, but has smooth dimming and color selectable whites. Quality seems about average, which is on par with this price point. Remote doesn't blend in with the wall at all.
