Compact design takes minimum space VS those bulky one. This device is very reliable works great even on curve Mount dashboard. I have been using magnetic Holder for long time and recently I replaced my old broken one with this unit and result is outstanding. You can make it fit just about anywhere if you know what you doing. People who has written bad review about this product those couch potato who does not know anything about how magnetic Holder works. They need to stick with their bulky suction cup design holder which they can mount and unmounted easily. Rule of thumb for this product to make it work stick base wherever you want to in the evening when you park your car for overnight. It requires cool temperature to settle the glue. Leave it overnight without touching it. It will be set for up to 5 pounds laptop. You can't simply take this base out without using any tools. People, please read instructions and read reviews before you mess it up. It is one the great product in the market. All good brand magnetic Holder works very well but not the cheap one. This design gives much more rooms for your phone compare to round one I used to have. Nato brand is very good too but more expensive than this one. This is very slick and good looking device everyone can have in their car truck and SUV. You can't simply mount this device whenever you want to and hang your 2 pounds phone right away and expect that it should hold it. It doesn't work that way. Great Product Strong Magnets. Make sure you clean the area with the wipes they give u beforehand. Also make sure u wait 24 hours before using the device to make sure you get a Strong bond. Here is what the company sent me after I had already put them on.. Before using this magnetic car phone holder mount, we have some small tips for you. Tips 1. Must choose flat surface to install this mount. Not fit for curved surface. It is compatible for car dashboard material which is carbon fibre, ABS, wood, piano finish metal, metal tape or PVC. Not compatible for Leatherette, Leather, Alcantara or after waxing dashboard material. Tips 2. Please bend the base tape several times before use.(VHB adhesive tape is one-time use.) Tips 3. Press for 10 seconds and let it sit for at least 24 hours before use.（both the mount and metal plate need） Tips 4.Must use with the included metal plate, even for iPhone 12 13 14 series or with magsafe cases. Stick it outside the phone case. Tips 5. Not fit for ring holder, popsocket, wallet case. Hope all the things we do could help you enjoy on your journey. Edit 12/2021: the company reached out to me and sent a replacement. This time i avoided using their extra cleaner wipe (branded by mfg) and the holder stuck solidly. I let it stay for a few months in full florida heat, and its still solid. I either got a dud, or the branded wipe was bad. Replacement works great. Original review: Applied to a flat smooth (non textured) area of my dash. Used cleaning pads as indicated. Waited 24hr as indicated. Magnets are strong. I really hoped this would work. Worked fine the first day on the way to work then fell off while i was working. Stuck fine and held great when reapplied, but fell off overnight. I cant get this to work. Also, mfg branded extra Prep pads left a weird tacky goo in area of use that has discolored my dash. Maybe these mounts would work better on a horizontal area, but theyre really awful on a vertical area. I've remounted it 1-2 times a day since i got them, and the last time it fell off, it landed sticky side down on the carpet and i give up. The best thing is the magnets. Very strong. I've always bought Schosche magnet mounts for my vehicles, they were one of the first to release them. I found these and tried them, they seem stronger than the Schosche or at least tied for strength. Schosche might have a little edge on the grippy rubber, but these are still grippy. I put multiple magnets in my phone case to increase strength, and it helps to have a phone case like mine with the sliding camera protector, because it has a lifted edge on the phone that can kind of hang over the top of the mount, helping the phone not slide off on bumpy roads.
