The size, thickness, and overall quality of these knife scales is fine for the price but the examples I received are so far off from matching that they seem like two completely different scales (see photo). I get that resin swirls are going to be random but the two pieces I received look like they were cut from completely different parts of completely different slabs. The whole point of selling a pair of knife scales is that they’re supposed to at least basically match (other than intentional variations from one side to the other) but these completely miss the mark with that concept. I’ll figure out a way to use them based on what the layers reveal with shaping but I definitely won’t be ordering from this seller again. ... show more

I have no complaints about these. My son and his father are working to make a knife and these looked like they would make a cool handle. They are lightweight. The colors and design is reasonably consistent. They do not come with a curved top and bottom, that is where he started working on it. The one warning I have is use a mask when grinding it because my son said it let off a bad odor. I would definitely recommend these. I would also get again should they decided to try this knife making project again. ... show more

Got these for a brisket slicer that I’m doing for a friend. The scales look great and are hard enough to be fairly resistant to scratches. The material shapes and sands easily. I think this knife will turn out great!

These knife handle blanks are gorgeous right out the package... but we soon learned the coloring only goes so deep on each blank and when you sand them down to shape them they lose that beautiful marbel look fast and you wind up with a mostly pearl-looking handle. It still looks and feels really nice and worked as intended, but beware sanding them too far down if you want to keep the color. ... show more
