This thing is massive and very heavy. The lid is also a skillet and it’s large and could fit full family meals in it. I am going to season this set again although it claims to be pre seasoned I rather thread in the edge of caution. This looks beautiful and I know with a little love I could keep this forever. This cast iron pot has a lid which can be used as a pan separate from the pot. The design and materials used are excellent and it is easy to clean after use. The weight if this pot is substantial, but it is a real value.

The surface of this pot is rough and porous, barely seasoned when it arrived. Not the same quality of the Lodge pan I have. I seasoned it once before baking sourdough in it, but still, the lid had tiny rust spots from the steam of the sourdough. I scrubbed them off and reseasoned the lid again. I have not had rusts since. I will not directly cook liquid food in this pot, but it is perfect for sourdough - heavy, good seal, and cheap (so I don't feel bad heating it repeatedly in the 500-degree oven). ... show more

I am very impressed with my Dutch oven. It was well priced and I was thinking I would get a mediocre Dutch oven. I got a well made Dutch oven and it produced some excellent sour dough bread.
