We had purchased another automatic litter box prior to this one. The opening was a small circle hole entry and our rescue cat Mochachino,REFUSED to use or even put a paw in. I had to return that one and search again. I read all the details, specifications, and great reviews, and decided to buy this lifesaver. We were not disappointed.The open rectangular design is large and spacious for our big boy who is long, fluffy, and 10lbs. We had to go away over the holidays for 12 days and knew that this was what we were going to have to have for his box to stay clean. Although we had friends come to feed him, we didn’t want them to have to do a daily scooping. It is absolutely FANTASTIC!! The thing I love most is it’s very efficient and QUIET. Mochachino jumps at the slightest noise and he absolutely LOVES this electric litter box. My husband set it to clean itself 10 minutes after he leaves, and it does the job perfectly. Set up was easy, and we change the litter bag once a week. Clean up is a breeze, and with the purchase came a roll of sturdy litter disposal bags. It was time to replace our self cleaning litter box. We had our last one for a couple of years. I didn’t want one of the automatic ones with a cover because I didn’t think our two cats would like the change. This one works so great and I like the color!!! This is my 6th automatic litter box and it works very well! I have had it for 3 weeks now and it cleans very quietly. The cats like it because it is an open model (they don’t need to go into a capsule or box). The trash bin is very large and can hold 4-5 days worth of poo and pee. I use clay litter that clumps well, so that works well with this machine. I can set the cleaning time to 15 min, which ensures a tight clump. I was a little worried about the size, as a few of my cats are 13-14 pounds. They use it without any issues. The only thing I noticed is the sides, where the scooper moves is getting dirty with litter, which may prevent the roller from going smoothly.     • Works but makes a LOT of noise

Most cats really dislike using covered litter boxes, and mine all hate them. They aren't very healthy for cats anyway, according to my vet. I'm going the automatic self-cleaning cat box route and so far it's been a huge success. The only problem is that the selection of open top automatic boxes is very limited. This box is similar to the original LitterMaid which I had over 20 years ago, but self-cleaning litter boxes were still a new concept then and the LM had some bugs that still needed to be worked out. I was hoping this model would have those kinks addressed. It's better, but there are a few issues. Namely, the construction of the box feels cheap. The plastic is very thin, especially the waste receptacle cover, and I feel like it will crack if too much force is applied. I also worry that the rake teeth will break off if it encounters a bigger than normal clump. I read that can be a problem. I have this litter box in a bathroom closet where my cats' original box used to be. The unit is quite long but it just fits in my deep closet with the door cracked to let the cats enter. It's really helped to keep the odor down in the bathroom, and the cats seem to have accepted it. It's got a pretty good size litter area for an automatic box and accommodates my 15 pound big boy, but the sides are low, so if you have a corner sprayer or a digger, this box may not be a good option. You can install a multi-product Tuya (Chinese) smart app that is very limited and the only thing you can adjust with it is the cleaning wait time after the cat uses the box. It will kind of tell you how many times the box was used but it can't differentiate between multiple cats. The cleaning interval defaults to 10 minutes after the cat leaves the box to allow the litter to clump, so if this works for you, then you don't really need the app. I'm using Arm and Hammer's Slide Clump and Seal litter, since you really can't put a thick layer of litter in this thing without damaging the motor, and I didn't want used, wet litter to stick to the bottom. So far so good. The only problem is that the particles gets into the track that the rake runs on to scoop the box. Even a couple of particles in the track makes this thing screech and squeal really loud. Thankfully, it's on the other side of the house from my office and my bedroom, so it doesn't disturb me. I've tried sweeping out the track but it still makes noise. The racket seems to scare my 2 scaredy cats, so I think only one of them is using this box (I have 3 cats and 3 automatic litter boxes - a PetPivot and a Neakasa M1). Since it's not mentioned in the description, the replacement bags are the same as the ones for the PetSafe automatic box. Bags that fit other automatic litter boxes won't fit this one. In conclusion, if the noise is something that could be an issue, or if you want to track your cats' metrics, or have cats that love to dig, corner spray, or throw litter everywhere, this box may not be for you. If the noise isn't an issue, you have large cats, don't care about an app, and your cats don't make a huge mess, this is a pretty decent box, but I do feel it's overpriced for what you get. ... show more

I am so glad I purchased this! It made the most disgusting job in the house simple! It works great. My cat took right to it. Cleaning is so simple. I don't even hear it working. I have it set to clean at 5 min, after the cat leaves (default is 1 min) because I wasn't sure if the cat would get spooked so I set it 'til she is long gone from the room. I searched so hard for an automatic litter box without the cover. Most cats HATE covered boxes. Sadly, I purchased a covered box weeks before finding this one. The cats aren't big fans of the covered box. I also have special needs cats who find it difficult to get into the higher boxes. This one is PURRFECT! So happy I found it. Plenty big enough for larger cats. The soiled litter compartment is BIG! It rakes wonderfully. Unlike other boxes the rake does a wonderful job at getting all the soiled litter. And it has an added rake that removes anything stuck on the rake. I've been using a few weeks now and have no complaints at all. Pretty easy to keep clean. I just use wipes daily. My disabled cats took to it after just one day. Thankfully they now use it most of the time. Cats really don't like climbing into an enclosed space so if you are looking for an auto-litter box I highly suggest this brand. I'm thrilled with my purchase and the kitties are too.
