Had another security camera brand that had to be sent back as there were no instructions and extremely difficult to figure out. Zosi did come with a manual with limited info. But information was plentiful when going on line or you tube. Night vision is actually pretty good on this. You do need to be careful where you set the camera up as at night if there is a huge bush or wall in camera view it takes away the light from where you need it and focuses on the bush / darkening the rest of the view. ( I believe there are a few articles about this and possibly in the manual as well ) Never had to use tech support as I was able to find all info on the web. The APP for your phone is pretty simple and actually works very well. But remember you DO need internet to use this app. (Camera system has it’s own Internet to communicate with cameras but not to your phone). Also remember your cameras are wireless EXCEPT for the power. They need to be plugged into a 110 V wall socket for power. Also the cameras can be a little tough to mount in the direction you need. To mount on a wall and look directly forward is great. They go up and down great. If you need the camera to angle left or right you’re screwed. To angle mine I mounted on wall then took a small piece of cardboard, folded it, shoved it under one side of the mounting bracket forcing one side to view a little more to the left and not straight out in front. I have not had any camera connectivity issues at all. Never have I lost connection. They are about 60 feet from my monitor and go through a couple walls of the house ( wood frame ) with no issues. That reminds me This does not come with a monitor. I use a old computer monitor and works great. I have heard about some TVs that have issues. I tried mine had no issues ( my tv is about 3 years old ). Last note, if you just want to view the cameras on a monitor (without using your phone) it’s extremely simple. Can literally be done in 3 minutes if you just lay the cameras on the ground. What takes the time is finding a way to power them and the actual mounting of the cameras. Almost forgot, to use your phone app, you don’t only use your house internet but you need to run a Ethernet cable from your router to the base or DVR ( can’t remember what this one is called ).     • Surprisingly easy to set up!
This was a Christmas present from my wife and I to ourselves. When this four camera wireless stand alone system came on sale, we thought this would fit our needs. The description in the add said it was easy to install. Just plug it in and it would work. "Sure it would," I said to myself, being a novice at this sort of thing. I was pleasantly surprised when it did just that! Plugged it in and turned it on and it worked. It is important to read and understand the instructions. The English is a little off so it may be confusing at first. We are in our seventies and this will be our first foray into the world of security cameras. We initially wanted to keep track of animals who visit our chicken yard at night. I installed the first camera at the chicken yard, but discovered the signal would not reach the router. Disappointment. However, after reading the instructions a little more thoroughly, I was able to use a second camera as a repeater. The instructions led me through the setup quite simply. This was perfect. The second camera enabled the signal to reach from the camera to the router and at the same time allowed the surveillance of the back of the house. The other two cameras are in use on the front entrances. The only reason I cannot give it 5 stars is because I have not used the motion detection and so cannot review its function. However, if this function works as well as everything else in this system, it would easily be a 5 star rating. As far the recording capability of the hard drive, it is very easy to review the recordings. Right click the camera view on the monitor and select the view recordings option. At the next screen you can select the date from the calendar and the time you want to check what has happened. This is all very straight forward. We have been completely satisfied with this system so far after the first two months of use. I am very happy to not have had to contact customer support. I expect their customer support would be as good as this system seems to be. ... show more

    • Easy Setup and Decent Video
I was pleasantly surprised by the ease of setup. Picture quality is good. While the cameras were setup within 100' of the main unit, there are several block brick walls between the furthest camera and the base. The wireless signal is still good. I would have rated it 5 stars except for the desktop software and the camera mounting base. All of the cameras required a lot of force to tighten down the angle on the post section (one camera wouldn't tighten down at all). The rotation on the base was relatively easy to set. My other complaint is the desktop software (Remote PC access). The software itself is cumbersome to use. Frequently the software looses connectivity to the cameras and has to be stopped and restarted. The login often fails even though the correct login information is saved. When in playback mode the software can't retrieve the stored video. The only way I have found to return to the live stream from the playback is to exit the program and restart it. Downloading stored data takes a loooong time. The iPhone app seems to work pretty well and I'm happy with that. The NVR software is relatively good so no real complaints there. I haven't tried to save any of the recordings to a thumb drive. I'll update the review when I do. I can't comment on the night recording as all of the cameras are installed indoors. Overall, I'm pleased with the system and will be purchasing an 8 camera version for my house and stables. ... show more
