***UPDATE*** Im leaving my reviews at 5 stars because I love this product, but I cannot recommend buying it through this seller. They are not an authorized dealer so the manufacturer won’t honor their warranty. *** No, it's not just a griddle, how dare you! It's a work or art! Okay, it's just a griddle, but it a REALLY good griddle and I've been looking around for a long time. Bought and returned a few (sorry Amazon), but I finally bit the bullet and spent more than I would have ever thought. but it was totally worth it. Some of the things that make this so great... The burner isn't attached to the cooking surface so it heats the air underneath and that creates a very even cooking surface. How about pancakes that look like pancakes and not rorschach tests, but rather golden brown? Clean up. Clean up is another amazing feature because it comes apart completely. The base, burner, cook surface all come apart allowing you to use soap and water and not just wipe things down. One note! The base is hollow, so you can clean it but be careful because if you run water directly on it, you will get water taped inside. Learned the hard way and had to take it apart to dry. The lid. I was standing over an entire pack of bacon snapping grease spits of death when I remembered, duh, a lid. No moe burns. The cord. Ever notice that your griddle either forces you to use an extension cord or somehow have a custom griddle spot on your counter with an outlet 1 foot from the griddle? This comes with a nice long cord that actually lock in and when it's locked it also locks in the cooking surface. My last griddle, on the first use I wasn't thinking and used a metal spatula. Big scratch, right out the gate. This COMES with a metal spatula. It's not a delicate non-stick surface. It's heavy duty. Flip and smash those burgers! I had family over and I was working the line like a pro, cooking for 6, 3 cakes at a time then into the oven to stay warm. Bacon on one side. Hash on the other (little bacon grease seeps into the hash, gotta love it). I t was actually fun to cook for 6 people. As you can see I've completely geeked out over this. I love cooking and I love when I get an kitchen item that really improves the experience. Air Fryer. Instant Pot. A griddle that can actually handle restaurant style cooking. Impressive. For the money I think that this is the best on the market and at this point I would have paid more. Heating is as evenly spread across the plate as you could hope for, the biggest reason why the heat is even is because the heating element is separate from the food plate which allows the air to heat the plate and not from direct contact with the heating element like most electric griddles. The heating element is designed to cover the whole surface of the plate; not just the outside leaving a cooler center or a hotter area where the control plug in inserted. Now for this type of setup it will take longer to reach your desired temperature, but I found after the first time I used it that I was able to cook 4 sausage patties, 2 eggs and a pile of hash browns at the same time before the unit hit 325 to 350 degrees without all of the popping and spattering of grease because it got to hot. On a side note: I cooked two eggs over medium with out using butter or oil to keep them from sticking, hash browns came out perfect, sausage cooked without leaving anything stuck or burnt to the plate. Clean up is very easy thanks to the non stick surface and pouring water in right after you use it. I think that I can honestly say the company that made this product is after performance and not a bottom line. I'm impressed and I love breakfast. Update: I just made Flawless scrambled eggs and bacon, crispy bacon not burnt bacon or limpy grease soaked bacon. This thing cooks like a gas stove. On another note, you will not believe how long the power cord is, they must have made a mistake, its 6 foot long. The only negative point I can make about this product is that I do not know how to pronounce the name of the company that made it. Update:11/5/16 Heating questions answered Just recently got a FLIR camera for my phone and decided to investigate any complaints about uneven heating. Now the FLIR device does have its limitations; the device only reads a temp up to 248*, so I couldn't track it up to preheat levels. Even so, you still get a very good idea of the balanced heating that is achieved through the product design. Now temperature control might be another story for you but you should be able to figure that one out after using it a few times. On another note, I have used this for over 2 years now and the surface still looks brand new; no scratches, nothing flaking off and no discolorations. ... show more
