This little fan is fantastic! I love the technology where this doesn't even need to be plugged in. The blades automatically start turning when it reaches a certain temperature. The fan doesn't take up much space on top of the wood stove. The dimensions are 3"D x 5.5"W x 7"H.

This Zgrmbo Wood Stove Fan, 6 Blades Heat-Powered Fireplace Fan with Temperature Reminder is a nice fan for moving hot air by convection on a wood stove, but it has a Maximum temperature requirement. This fan would work well for an heater, such as a Buddy Heater that has built in temperature controls. Fortunately, there is a handy heat gauge on the fan base so you can see just how hot the temperature is getting. But if your wood stove gets too hot and the needle on the gauge runs into the red zone, then per the instruction manual (2nd photo), "Overtemperature" can result in "Shortened or even damaged service life." The outside temperature in my city is not cold enough to crank up my wood stove, so I tested this fan on my ceramic cooktop stove. And the fan blades did whirl and move the warm air nicely. The instructions recommend a placement on the side (not center) of the woodstove top. And the instruction manual said that if the blades whirled too fast because of temperatures that exceeded 482F, the light-weight aluminum based could life slightly. Supposedly, that should cool it down, but what if it didn't move straight up, and moved sideways? I am also a little concerned about a little plastic-coated red wire (see first photo) that seems to be tucked inside the fan works. I liked everything about the fan, except these two things: 1) I cannot just load my wood stove and walk away, but am required to monitor the temperature and be prepared to remove the fan to save it from damage, and 2) that little plastic wire looks like it could burn up and I am not too keen about that - especially if it off gases while burning. So if you are willing to monitor your fire, or sit nearby, this might be the fan for you. ... show more

I know this fan is supposed to be used on wood stoves but I use them on a portable buddy heater while ice fishing and it really helps to move the heat around in the ice shack. Really works great for moving heat without power.
