    • Okay Budget Scooter
This scooter is okay. It's pretty fast. It goes up to 19 mph for me at Gear 2 (fyi I'm ~150 lbs. The top speed may differs across people with different weight. Also, I didn't press the accelerator all the way down because I'm not comfortable with high speeds so 19 may not be its limit. ). It also got pretty nice acceleration. It has the solid tires so you won't have to worry about flats. The so-called honeycomb supposedly gives you a little shock absorption. I've not tried fully solid tires before so I'm not sure how it'll feel on those. On flat plain, it's pretty stable and not very bumpy. But when the road gets rough it'll be noticeably bumpier compared to air-filled tires. It'll also sound kinda clanky. It's tolerable to me but everyone has different preferences/experiences. On tiled roads, air-filled tires scooters will also be bumpy which means it'll only be bumpier on this scooter. I suggest avoiding them or just get down and walk if possible. The brake, as other reviewers have mentioned, are indeed pretty abrupt. I don't think it's enough to flip you over but we can't deny its possibility. So to avoid being thrown out, I would suggest braking in the following way (under non-urgent situations): 1. let go of the accelerator to stop giving it power 2. LIGHTLY tap the brake a few times, slowing the scooter bit by bit 3. once it gets down to single-digit mph, you can just pull the brake all the way down SLOWLY so you won't get thrown out. Don't lean over the handlebar; try to balance your body weight across the whole scooter; adding more weight on the rear will lower the possibility of you being thrown out because it's a front brake. The rear stepping brake may work for low speeds but it'll become kinda useless once you get fast enough. Plus, trying to step on it may cause you to lose your balance so it's best to just use the above methods to brake safely under normal situations. The app is called KCQ scooter. It's okay. You can change the speed from km/h to mph if you prefer. You can lock the scooter. If someone tries to ride it while you're locking it, it'll beep. Not sure how useful it is but at least it got an alarm. It's almost useless after it's turned off though. However, when you turn it on and it's locked before it's turned off, it'll still beep when you try to ride it so make sure you've unlocked it in the app before riding or it'll look like you're stealing someone's scooter. Since I'm only using it for campus, there's mostly flat plains that I need to travel on. There're also very rarely emergency situation where I have to brake very quickly. So this scooter is pretty sufficient to my needs. If you're in a similar situation, I would say go for it: buy it. However, if you actually have to go on roads and commute with it, I would suggest investing in more and getting something else. The brake isn't smooth enough for you to brake safely while braking quickly. The tires don't offer enough shock absorption for different terrains. It'd not be safe enough for you to commute with this scooter on the roads but in somewhere like a college campus setting, it's good enough. Update: One minor problem. The latch of the handlebar that locks it in place is quite loose. The clip itself is not loose. But the latch is quite, which means while it’ll not pose any safety hazards, the latch will keep clanking against the handlebar and make a lot of noises when riding, especially when passing through rougher terrains.     • Design flaw? Or defective unit? @$$$ I would like to know
Design flaw? Or simply a defective unit? It appeared to be a typical unboxing as I excitedly opened the heavy box Saturday afternoon. I have had several electric scooters and they all come in similar packaging with very easy assembly. All that’s required is to unfold the stem (front upright piece the handlebars attach to) and plug in the handlebars and secure with two screws. Power on (3 bars before charging) and off I go…… Um not with this one though. I pushed off down my apartment building hallway and wildly spun out of control. I looked down and realized the handlebars were at an odd angle and the front tire wasn’t straight. Figuring I had attached them incorrectly in my excitement I hurrried back down the hall and began my examination. The stem is an odd uneven hexagon shape and the handlebars only fit in one way…..so there’s no way they are attached incorrectly. In fact the sides of the hexagon are not equal sooooo I was 100% correct. Further down I continue my examination and notice that The collar that connects the stem and the actual deck of the scooter has a weird welded area that appears to make turning the stem so that the tire and handlebars align …..impossible. Further inspection yields two fasteners that appear to allow the adjustment I seek. Unfortunately the adjustment works it’s way loose while the scooter is operating..rendering it unsafe if not downright dangerous. Especially because this scooter hauls it’s tush considerably faster than comparable scooters in its price range. Good: tall enough for even a man or woman over 6 foot Attractive look Nonslip deck Lights and power console Bad: Shaky on the road Tires are stiff Welded areas don’t appear professionally done Ugly: Holes were drilled for screws and attaching but not sanded so burrs cut my fingers when I was making adjustments Basically dangerous (at least the “defective” unit I received is) Way too Expensive for such a poorly constructed product with serious flaws. Gotrax Segway Razor etc all have much less expensive models that (while not as gizmo heavy) ride just fine and for a lot longer than this scooter that basically went 3 miles before the battery died. ... show more

    • It's worth the price but leaves a lot to ask for.
We bought 2 of these as a family Christmas present. It's a great date idea for mom and dad and our older children can use them as well. For the most part we enjoy the scooters but if you're over the weight limit (I am 6'6 250) it is going to be slower. If you want something like the rentals this is NOT it! It is however a great entry point at a decent price. The BAD: The chargers that these come with are complete crap. Period. Thankfully customer service has been decent and replaced one of the chargers already. I am still however, in need of another as both originals died almost instantly. It's the cheapest part of the package. The GOOD: Pretty decent quality. Feels sturdy. Its a rough ride as there is not any shock absorption at all but that comes with the price! Get this if you want something FUN and take your spouse/partner on a date ride. My wife and I pack some wine and snacks in a backpack and go scooter around. It's a cheap blast that pays for itself if you rented scooters before. ... show more

    • Short-term fun
Bought this for my young teen Christmas of 2021 and he used it often for about 6-7 months, until an error message appeared - and the scooter just stops as you’re riding it, which is dangerous considering how fast this thing goes. I’m in Austin - a city covered with scooters - and I can’t seem to find a scooter repair shop anywhere… but hope to soon. Expensive considering you get 6-7 months out of it. ☹️ ... show more
