We had two of these bathroom drains in our master bath sinks. Unfortunately, our cleaning service got a little too aggressive and pulled the top off of one...I think they thought it was the type with a removable cleaning basket. It isn't. :-) Installing of the replacement was very straightforward. I unscrewed the nut on the bottom (you need large channel lock pliers), lifted the broken one out, dropped the new one in place (using a bead of plumbers putty around both the top and bottom), and tightened the nut to hold it back in place. It's working perfectly...no leaks, drips, or other plumbing disasters. I've told the guys that the next time that they want to clean it, the mushroom top unscrews. ... show more

Update 6-25-23: Well got another one but it doesn't fit. The top part is 1.75 in and won't go through older 1.5 in sink opening. Had to go with the type with basket contrary to what I said earlier. Too bad. Do not get the kind with a basket!!! The stopper attaches to the basket unsecured and the stopper would not work half of the time or worse!!! This one the stopper screw hole is securely built inside the drain pipe so the stopper always works. This is my experience from several installs using this and other styles. This unit is high quality and install was easy. The large popup stopper is visually pleasing and doesn't look old school. The only negative is that the somehow hard water deposit forms calcium deposit circles on two other installs. So I just throw them in a bucket of white vinegar along with shower heads, faucet aerators, etc. and soak them overnight. Presto good as new :) ... show more

i like the looks of the product, and the ease of installation. what i don't like is that the flange, where the drain mates with the surface of the basin, is thick and not tapered. this creates a sort of crevice where gunk can accumulate. also, the printed install instructions could have been clearer. ... show more

The media could not be loaded. The pull up for my stopper broke and therefore caused the drain to leak at the stopper connecter. This pop up drain was a perfect replacement without having to replace the faucet and still have a stopper.

We had two bathrooms remodeled a couple of years ago and installed 3 Kohler faucet/drain kits. After less than a year, the original pop-up drains were discolored and corroded. They looked terrible and cleaning didn't help. I tried the Yodel stoppers and after a year, they look pretty good. Yes, they do have some calcium buildup, but cleaning with a good cleaner makes them look really good. ... show more

The drain tube diameter should be 1.25", but the others are 1.5" and unable to connect to the existing drain. The pop-up diameter is 2.15", but the other China brand is 2.6", which is too big and looks clumsy. I am wondering if it is working properly without leaking; therefore, I gave up on Zeperdize. The only good point is the low price, and I hope not "you got the quality that you paid". ... show more

I should have read all the other reviews first so I knew what I was in store for. Like everyone else, mine leaked from the threads where the nut holds the drain underneath the sink. This only applies to the overflow style. Other reviewers that claim "no leaks" no doubt have the NO overflow model, since that one isn't affected by this issue (no water lives down there). Despite the company's boasts about new and improved gaskets, there is absolutely nothing in the design that is even _intended_ to stop water from flowing along the threads. Gaskets don't do that. The solution was to use a LOT of PTFE/teflon tape on the threads where the affected nut fastens. I had to use about 5 turns in total. But start slow, because use too much and you have to start over (like I did). Another reasonable alternative is to use pipe dope, but I find that rather messy especially after disassembly. I would NOT use silicone sealant on threads if you ever intend on getting the thing apart in one piece again. Shame on anyone suggesting that. I like the look of this drain and how it works, so I'm still glad I purchased it. Even though I was rather pissy at first with having to deal with this issue. Silly me for following the directions. The only thing that surprised me about the drain was how large the top stopper part was compared to any other drain I've seen. It still fit just fine in my really old pedestal sink. ... show more
