I didn't think this thing would work, as we have plug that you lift and turn with a lip around 2/3 of it and the Shroom was a little bigger than the lip; therefore, it is on an uneven surface. However, it works perfectly. Before, I would fill the tub and it would run out within 15-20 minutes. Now, however, with the Shroom, the water level does not change. I have tested it, and it stayed the same for an hour. Grandkids are ecstatic, as they hated when the water went away before they were done playing. One thing to know, though, is that I need to wait until the water with about 4 inches deep before putting the Shroom in place. If I want less than that, it can float up. It doesn't always float up so I assume there is a trick to it that I don't know yet. ... show more

I was hoping this would be the answer to my issue of a slow draining tub. I normally fill the tub during a storm in case we lose power and need water for flushing. Tried filling the tub and adding the StopShroom and it did not stay on. Put the stopper on first and then added the water. It had to be on just right so it wouldn’t move and keep the water from draining immediately. It didn’t take long for the water to drain completely out. Maybe 10 minutes. My tub can do that on its own. This product was of no help. If anyone knows of any tricks to make it work I’d love to hear it. I would not waste your money on this. ... show more

It efficiently retains all of the water in the tub. It makes me very happy that I can enjoy peaceful baths without requiring her to replenish the tub after I inadvertently pressed the plug with my foot. When it comes to fixing bathtub drain issues, this is the ideal fix!

This product is great to use if your sink or bathtub does not have a stopper or the stopper is broken (as in my case). It makes it so that I can hand wash items in my sink now. The reason I did not give it 5 stars is because I think it is a little expensive for what it is, and I have not tested its durability so I cannot comment on how long it will last. It is pretty large, so it should fit any size drain, and is pretty easy to use (you just put it over your drain and turn on the water and eventually the “cover” suctions and prevents any water from entering). It is not as flexible/flimsy as other products, as this one has a rigid plastic inside that keeps the overall shape a dome, unlike others which are just rubber and may collapse down flat once under water. This plastic inside of the rubberized outside probably lends itself to making the product more durable and able to keep its shape over time, however I have not used it enough to be able to report back on this. I just tried this on my bathroom sink, which has a relatively small drain compared to the size of this “Stop Shroom” and though it works initially to block the drain and keep water in the sink, because it does not actually suction around the drain, the water slowly drains underneath the product, and I came back about 30 minutes later to an empty sink. This product would probably work better to cover a larger drain or one that has their other product to catch hair installed, as the product has a raised inside dome. I’m disappointed that it does not work for longer than about 5-10 minutes in my sink, as this product was pretty expensive for what it is. Overall, the product is nice and it is large enough that it could fit any drain that I would want to use it on, and the construction with the plastic and rubber is probably more durable than others. I still feel that the price was a little high for what it is, but I could not find a similar product at a lower price in stock at the time, so I bought this one. The color is also nice (I bought the teal) which is a bonus. ... show more
