This semi-flush mount fixture is perfect in the eating area of my kitchen and provides lots of light. It's a large, beautiful, very clean looking fixture. I did not want a hanging fixture screaming, "put a table under me." It was hung from my 9-feet high ceiling using the shortest of the four rods that came with it, which provide several hanging options. I am using incandescent bulbs in it right now and had it installed on a dimmer that is also LED compatible. I am looking for LEDs in the 4000K warmth range. I installed this light in a corner where there are no windows, thus dark. Put in max wattage of LED Daylight equivalent of 150 watt (3 bulbs of 150 watts) and room is completely lit up brightly. Love it! It hangs between TV and couch. Chose shortest extension so no blockage. Perfect!

We bought this as an open box for our dining room. The shade is white, which is what we wanted. Directions tell you to install the short rod first, I wasn't sure why, but I had trouble getting it back off when I didn't follow directions. Totally my fault. Installation was easy and it is a nice lamp. Minor gripe is the shade top is a bit off flat. Meaning when looking from side, it isn't exactly flat.
