This fixture is a very affordable way to upgrade your home. My husband did the installation with no issue. The most time consuming part was just determining the length we wanted it to hang. We replaced the basic fixture that was standard builder grade in our home. I like the simple elegance of this one. The wood and metal finishes fit perfectly into our decor. I wasn't sure it would provide enough light, but it actually exceeded my expectations on brightness. I love all the light you get from not having the housing direct most of the light downward. And, I don't have lots of crazy shadows on the walls from the openness of it. Just note, I am only using it provide light to a small space. You can view the photos to see how it looks over my table and to see the fixtures I paired it with that were also purchased from Amazon. The media could not be loaded. Not bad. I bought 5 of single ceiling lamp like these but without the chain and other 5 more of of two bulbs for the bigger area. The look in trying to chaise is farm theme and I had a stairs that needed a pendant style one. Found this one and it’s PERFECT! Love the subtle and warm light and it was pretty simple to install. It provides enough light to light up the stairs but at the same time it is not bright enough that will blind your eyes. Pros: Easy in the eyes, good quality, beautiful light and shadow pattern when on. The chain are adjustable. It does look good with wood or farm the se decorations. Cons: Nothing at the moment. Everything is more than what I hope for. Maybe a con could be that it can’t be really be used outdoor. If it was k would have bought a second one to put it at my front porch. ... show more

Bought it to swag over an antique desk in my living room. I have a very old house with plaster walls and ceilings, and did not want to drill a hole in the ceiling for a swag hook. I haven’t finished tucking the wires and putting the curtains up yet as you can tell, but I needed more lighting over the sink in the cabinets in the kitchen. This worked out perfect and it’s just the right size. You don’t have to hardwire if you can put a metal bracket wooden bracket up to hang it, tuck the wires in around the windows to plug it in And it looks like it was meant to be there.
