  • Powerful for the price-point!
Style: stick welder 125Amp
With a coupon available during checkout, I only paid $60 and change for this welder! I grew up using a stick welder, and really enjoyed it. Been dabbling with Mig and will be learning Tig down the road (after I purchase one, but with only a short time playing with this stick welder (running on the 220v), I really enjoyed it and it was able to get a good, solid and deep weld. This will be used for pleasure and on the homestead for maintenance and repairs...and also to make some creative jigs that will work with my automotive lift. For the price-point, this is a great welder, for the beginner, and also for the home shop that does not require top-notch x-ray inspected welds! Yes, you usually get what you pay for, but with this purchase, I got way more than what I paid for it! If you are on the fence about getting this for home/hobby/home-shop use, just do it! You will not be disappointed! Just as an FYI, I did choose to spend the $13 to get the 4 year extended service plan, just in case. I thought that for that low price, if it would go down anytime in the next 4 years, I will be fully compensated and have the cash to get another one or upgrade to the next level (but I doubt that I will need an upgrade). Buy it...play with it...and enjoy it! ... show more

  • Like a lightning bolt in a shoe box.
Style: stick welder 125Amp
This is my 9th welder. I have name brand welders costing over 6500.00. This is a little fire-fly compared to the large MIG/TIG/Stick machines that go up to many hundreds of amps; but, this one runs on 120 Vac and is smaller than a shoe box. I find it runs a little cooler for the same amperage as my other welders; but, the 135 amps will run 1/8 inch rod at at its highest setting. The weld looks good and is burned in well. I have other slightly larger 120/240 volt machines with a handle that are a little larger and go up to 200 amps and cost around 135 to 165.00. I bought this one because I can stick weld almost anything and it was only about 56.00. This machine fits easily in my car for small jobs away from home. ... show more

  • YESWELDER! Don't let the strange name fool ya, this machine is a decent welder.
Style: stick welder 125Amp
First off. I'm new to welding so I don't have much to compare this machine to but so far I am impressed. Once the machince arrived I was excited but I didn't have 220 available but decided to give it a try with 110v. I also didn't purchase any welding rods but remembered that my dad welded back in the '80s so off I went on a treasure hunt. Within 10 minutes I struck gold in a 30-year-old barn that had multiple welding rods scattered along its dirt floor. I seriously believe that the rods were from the '80s but they were all I had so I gathered a few, dried them off & prepared for my first weld. Most of the rods were so beat up that I couldn't even read the printed numbers so I gave them all a try. Within a few minutes, I figured out the process and was able to lay down welds with 30year old welding rods. (Check out my pictures The machine itself is all metal and while it doesn't have a lot of adjustments it does what it should. I also plan to try to refurbish a battery with this bad boy (Look it up if you are unsure what I'm referring to) I picked this welder for $70ish through Prime but after using it I would have paid more and believe it is well worth checking out. ... show more

  • Works great, final update.
Style: stick welder 125Amp
I'm not sure I even want to look into this machine any further. If they can't figure out which 110 -> 220v adapter to send then I'm scared to hook the thing to power. What other stupid mistakes were made building this? Well, I tried it anyway, and other than the wrong 220v adapter being sent, the machine works great. Just putting it through its paces, I burned a 1/16" 6013 rod, which was all I was really expecting to work, and it worked fine. Next I tried some 3/32" 6010 and that burned fine as well. I figured "why not" and pulled out a 1/8" 7018 and sure enough, burned that one too. Granted, it was at the lower end of what 1/8" 7018 rod wants, and I don't think I'd try to weld anything over 1/4" thick with it, but it will light and burn that rod. Very impressed. Now if they would just send me the correct pigtail so that I can try it on 220v...… <Final Update> I was contacted by the seller, and the representative offered to send the correct pigtail. Considering how well the machine worked on 110v I'm sure that getting the extra few amps that 220v provides will just make it run that much better. If you need something light and handy to burn a few rods around the house, or make repairs somewhere that you have limited access to power, this welder gets the job done. ... show more

  • Haven’t been this amped on a purchase in awhile. A++
Style: stick welder 125Amp
My $400+ forney started to smoke out of the fan one day, so I called them and all they had to say was “sounds like the mother boards fried” “we have refurbished ones online” (it was not even 3 years old) so I was stick welding under my jeep xj (don’t have patience for mig) and I couldn’t stop now. Really wanted the Eastwood 180mp but I needed it fast and I didn’t have enough for that anyway. One of the cheapest on Amazon, from a name you can trust (or pronounce at least) and it really blew me away. So much easier to use, set up, and everything. All around great machine… if you need a stick welder and don’t want to pay “big showroom prices” lol get this thing. The “hot start” and “arc force” settings (I thought were dumb originally) really let you fine tune whatever stick your burning. Ran 6013, 7018 like butter. REALLY GREAT LITTLE BOX. (I had purchased a new electrode holder+ Different ground clamps and thicker gauge wire; 1/0for my Forney before it burned out and put them to use on this so I don’t know if that’s why I had optimal welds, or it’s just a Jim-dandy groovy little box. Probably the latter, because the cables that came with it are two gauges bigger and much nicer quality then my almost $500 welder was….pardon the rant but I couldn’t believe my eyes after a few days welding with this. The POWER is there; even went up more then 35-40 more amps then my 140mp paperweight……. ... show more
