I don't generally leave reviews, but the seller and their customer service deserve recognition. I purchased this knife set and block as a gift. After over a year of careful use, I noticed a small crack developing in the handle material, and reached out to the seller to see about a replacement for that one knife (note, it was quite some time beyond when I'd purchased, and well out of any return window). Upon closer inspection I noticed several knives had developed this issue, and in working with customer service to determine the issue, it was a result of users allowing the knives to slide back unsupported into the block. We'd babied these knives, hand-washing and treating with the utmost respect, but apparently not when the knives were returned to the block, which resulted in small cracks in the handle material at the base developing over time. Again, being I was well beyond any return window, customer service could have been like "too bad," but what did they do?? They offered my choice to refund in full or provide a replacement knife set. And not only that, when I asked if there was another storage solution available, they also offered to send me the magnetic block alternative from another set. I've since received the new knives and they are perfect, and the magnetic block on the counter allows for easy access and, most importantly, a gentler handling solution to keep these very sharp, beautiful knives pristine for many years to come. I've ordered from Amazon for a long time, and never have I encountered a seller who went that far out of their way to make sure I was a happy customer. If you are willing to take very special care of these knives they will last for a very long time, and if you are on the fence about buying these from Amazon, I strongly recommend you consider this seller, because they were stellar. ... show more

It's not that the knives weren't sharp, or they didn't work. Both of which can be fixed - After all, they are just knives. But for this price point, I expected a little better of a set than something you could pull off the shelf from a big box store or other retailer. The knives do not sit evenly in the block, they don't quite fit in some of their slots, and the "wood" on some of the handles is occasionally discolored or otherwise inconsistent or blemished. Some of the knives in this set had dings / scratches on the blades and handles. On one of the blades, it is apparent the machining wasn't quite right and if you touch the blade on an area not close to the sharp end, there is a bur that can cut you. All that aside, these knives aren't what I was looking for. I am aiming for something more premium. They don't feel weighty in the hand and they aren't all that sharp. They will do the job, but I want something else. Also, that nice wavy pattern you see in the pictures isn't nearly as apparent in person. ... show more
