    • Does not connect to WiFi Bluetooth or anything app is horrible
This lock works great if you don’t want to connect to WiFi or blue tooth The hardware is decent and as a standalone keyless lock without connectivity it’s great. The hardware installation instructions via app were fantastic. The lock itself tells you how to program pin codes to unlock and lock it and to configure it within itself but when you go to set it up with the “Yale connect” hahahahah Yeah that’s another story!! The Hub/wifi bridge that comes with it! Not a chance After numerous attempts with the numerous amount of Yale apps designed for whatever locks they sell nothing would work. I was unable to connect the Wi-Fi bridge that it came with to my network, tried multiple routers, and yes I was using the correct frequency that it requires. I was also unable to connect to the module that comes with the lock to the app or home kit or anything for that matter. Support was futile nobody ever answered, even on the web page it says it doesn’t setup without crashing after iOS 14.2 No apps work with it at all regarding wireless use. The positive reviews on here are from 2019 2020 so that explains a lot So in the end I will be returning it. Don’t waste your time like I did ... show more

This looks like an excellent lock, but my motoE4 with android 7.1 is not compatible with the app. If you want a smart lock that unlocks automatically simply by having the phone in your pocket, your phone must be compatible with the August app shared by this Yale lock. Any such Yale or August smart lock uses the same app, so check in advance by trying to download the app in google store or apple store or however you download apps on your phone. Also, for this lock there is a very specific app you need; google store had several yale lock apps downloadable but not the crucial one to make this geo-fenced unlocking feature available. If you really want this lock you could use it as an excuse to upgrade your phone if necessary. ... show more

Easy to install. Setting up WiFi took couple of tries. Would prefer to have integrated WiFi rather than separate unit

Terrible installation procedures and instructions. Installation video restarts every time you pause it and your phone goes to sleep. One of the door hardware was dusty out of the box. After going through the painful instructions and finally finishing the install and registering the device, the lock disappeared from the Yale app and it is telling me I don’t any smart devices installed. So I am going to have to redo the whole device setup process. ... show more

Received another used lock, that is advertising as new, returning again!! The box was not taped closed, the lock and bridge were scratched and scuffed with finger prints all over them. The box that the module was in didn’t seem to be opened.

    • Avoid Yale, Breaks Often
I used these for my Small B&B rental chain, and they go out ALL the time. These locks have a huge fail rate, suffer from low quality, and have to be swapped often. Yale needs to step it up.

Love this, definitely worth the money. As I’m exiting car, door unlocks. It automatically locks after a few minutes. Works with Apple HomePod. Defiantly good to buy another for the side door!
