We are renting a home and there was an existing Yale lock installed. It worked ok, but it had an old Zwave module and I did not want to purchase a zwave hub or software just to connect to it via smartphone. I researched lots of different smart locks and this one was cheaper than even most add ons for existing locks and it has key backup. No brainer for me. This one installed in less than 10 minutes and I had it configured in the app with no issues. It tells me any time someone comes in or out, tells you if they used a code or manually locked and unlocked the door and tells you if it’s currently locked. Better than those expensive ones! Battery lasts much longer! I would recommend this product for open and lock simple function. Easy install and app is easy too to use. I used to have a smart lock with camera I don’t like it since the battery dies with in a wk or two.

I ordered two and both came in good shape. The instructions could have been better, nothing is included in the package. The instructions are in the form of a video on the Eufy Security App. I don't like that, I prefer paper. Once they were installed it took a couple minutes to connect to the WiFi and then set a passcode for each. They both work well and the notification speed is very fast. The buttons light up when pressed and feel nice to touch, they aren't smushy like other locks I have used. I would recommend this to anyone wanting a simple, secure, WiFi deadbolt. ... show more

I loved it! Easy to install, so far working very good, it works with 4 batteries AA. You can setup a temporary code for guests, you can see through the app lock events, you can unlock and lock the door via app, key or passcode, only 1 person (admin) has access to the app., you can setup to lock the door automatically after 10sec, 30sec, 1 min etc.. This is all that I was locking for, Cons- could be better if have option to fingerprint, I’m happy anyway. ... show more

    • Battery Life Is Horrible!

I purchased this smart lock by Eufy because I also have one of the security camera’s by Eufy. I like the convenience of having one app to control both devices, which is one of the reasons I went with this particular brand. The smart lock itself is great, It was easy to install, and set up through the app. The reason for this review is, the battery life is horrible! I didn’t notice in the description if it specified which type of batteries to use, whether it be alkaline or lithium. The first couple of times I used alkaline batteries, I was lucky if they lasted two weeks before having to change them out. I then decided to try lithium batteries as a family member suggested they will last a lot longer. Well, I purchased some lithium batteries, which I may add are not cheap, and not even 4 weeks after I installed them, I am having to replace the batteries once again. The smart lock was purchased in November, and I am now having to replace the batteries for the 5th time in 3 months. Upon checking a few other options for smart locks I noticed this is a recurring issue. I guess the only option I have at this point, is to do some research to find a smart lock with a much longer battery life, as replacing batteries that frequently can get to be rather expensive. ... show more
