  • Great product!
It arrived a day earlier than expected!!!... 2 day shipping!!!.. the instructions were just pictures but this product is pretty self explanatory.. It will be very easy to put together if you dont have your husband and his big ole thumbs try to help you.. for stability we did zip tie the ramps to the platforms as we are using this for a very rambunctious "cat" and removed the hammock for now for safety. once the " cat " is calmer we will put it back in.. it was just a hazard as a leg, an arm and head got stuck right off the bat.. but this item is perfect for what we need it for.. very stable, solid and great for the price ... show more

  • Great rat cage *with modifications*
The cage alone is slightly wobbly and unstable, but some zip ties held it together nicely. The bar spacing is probably small enough for large rats, but there are big openings at the bottom back of the cage that would need to be covered. I wrapped mine in hardware cloth to make it escape proof. If you don't want to spend a ton of money on a decent sized rat or small animal cage, this makes for a great alternative! ... show more

  • Pretty easy assemble even with lack of instructions.
I had to wait twice as long to receive this because the first one got lost in transit, which is not the sellers fault and I didn't rate it any less because of that. It was packed well. All the parts were included. The instructions went from step 1 to step 3, yet all the pages were there. I think just a poorly made manual. Quite hard to follow anyway because all it gives you is small pictures. After I figured it out though it was a piece of cake. This is what worked really good for me, and no need for spare zip ties. Lay the whole main frame out flat. Put the plastic bottom into place. Then flip the cage on it's side, with the narrower width of the cage on the ground and facing up. Screw the four wheels into the bottom. I didn't need any tools for this, I just made them hand tight. Next, hook the wall that is on the ground to each of the sides of the cage using the black hooks. You will notice flat half rings on each side also that are going straight out. Make sure those stay on the outside of the cage, not going inside the cage at all. Once you have the bottom hooked, then flip the top wall up and do the same thing. Then flip it back up on the wheels and put the top on. It was actually really easy doing like this. I noticed a number of reviews stating you need extra zip ties, but in reality, you don't at all. It seems pretty sturdy to me and no big gaps anywhere that a cat could get out. Overall I am pleased with this product and would recommend it. Left something out in my first review that I thought I should come back and add. Before I assembled the cage I contacted the seller and asked how I could go about getting another instruction manual because the one I had was incomplete. They sent me an email back with a list of all the parts of the cage and told me to list the parts I was missing and email them back. That parts list didn't include a manual anywhere. So they seem pretty incompetent with understanding plain English. So just a heads up on that. ... show more

  • Easy to assemble, great for kittens
This product was not difficult to assemble with a little common sense. The instructions are useless, but all you need to know is that if the hook goes over then the “u tabs” go under or the other way around. I prefer to start by laying all four sides out, and then, I put the back up and connect the sides. Once those are connected I walk around to the front and connect the front to the sides. You should not have to try to hold it together when you do this if you connected the panels correctly. I have put it together and taken it down several times for travel. It is heavy but goes very flat so I consider it portable. Just put the shelves and ladders in the bottom then fold down the back, sides and lastly front. Use something like a zip tie or large twist tie to hold top layer to bottom layer. Only bummer is that the tray doesn’t slide out of this one, but overall great value for what I paid. ... show more

  • If You Have the Money, Buy the More Expensive Cage
Honestly, you get what you pay for with this cage. I ordered this for my five/six week old kitten who was becoming too big for her carrier. I wanted something a bit bigger so that she could move around more and play at night. I looked into two other cages, both more expensive, and opted for this cheaper one (I'm a grad student on a budget). I wanted two-day shipping as I wanted it by Friday (I ordered on a Wednesday), but instead I got it the following Monday as it was shipped through UPS. So that was a bit of an inconvenience. Other buyers should be aware that the two-day shipping option is not actually two-day shipping. When it finally did arrive, I was a little surprised by the size of the package. It was larger than I thought it would be and much heavier. It was packaged okay, with extra tape to help keep the box shut. Getting the cage out of the box was a bit of a struggle, but, once it was out, it was out. Putting it together, though, was awful. There were many cuss words said in the forty-five minutes it took to put together. The instructions are vague at best, and its difficult to get the sides to stay together. If you're doing this alone, invite a friend over because having another person made it so much easier. Also, ties are needed for extra reinforcement. There is no way this would stay together without some ties to help keep the sides together. The whole cage feels cheap, and I don't think the platforms could hold more than a few pounds. The ladders are okay, much stronger than the platforms, but my kitten definitely doesn't like them. I'll have to see if I can cover them with something. The hammock is tiny, and I'd recommend buying one from another seller (I bought one from UsefulThingy and it's honestly great, I'd recommend that one). The yellow mat that is included is actually kind of nice, but I know my kitten is going to chew the strings off within a few days of use. Also, note that the casters don't have locks. My honest opinion is that, if you have the money, go for the more expensive cages because you'll probably get a better cage. If you're on a budget like me, this one will do. Just be prepared to be frustrated out of your mind putting it together. Like I said, you get what you pay for. ... show more
