I want to start by saying I also have some other brands of small handheld heat presses similar to this, but this one is by far my favorite! The first thing to note, is my first time plugging it in, there was no unpleasant smell. Some of my other heat presses had a weird electrical smell upon heating it the first few times, but not this one. Right away when using it, I can tell you it's super comfortable to hold in your hand and feels substantial and sturdy. The handle stays cool to the touch even when heated for a while, which was very reassuring. You can either hold the handle like normal, or even slip your hand through under the handle to press down with the palm of your hand. Since I only used my press for a few minutes, even the holder stayed a bit cooler than I expected. Obviously I'm not saying to go ahead and touch the holder while your heat press is on it! But after accidentally touching it with the side of my hand, I was very surprised that it wasn't very hot. Although I do think that if keeping it on for a couple of minutes or even keeping it on the higher setting will make it hot, so be careful when picking up the machine so that you don't touch the bottom. I also feel much safer using this over my other brands since it shuts off automatically after just a few minutes, keeping it from overheating. It worked super well and heated my design evenly! In my picture you can see my design is bigger than the heat press, but keeping it moving around still heated everything evenly. This little thing is strong! Definitely worth the price.     • Decent little iron
Used this to do a bunch of edge banding. Have used a regular iron in the bast but they're a bit too large and unwieldy. This little fella worked fine for the job. Plenty of heat to get the adhesive to flow out and small enough to be manageable on the edge of a 1/2" or 3/4" panel. Only complaint is that it shuts itself off every so often. Lifting it or moving it around doesn't change the time out period. It does beep to let you know it's about to shut down, which gives you about 5 seconds to hit the power button to keep it turned on. It started shutting down on me as it was in my hand and I was using it, which is annoying. For that I knocked off one star, but it's not a deal breaker, I'll still use it and would recommend it for jobs like the one I did. ... show more

    • Perfect for small quick jobs
This mini heat press performs well. It is the perfect addition to your craft room for small quick jobs that need a hot iron. It is ultra light weight and small and includes a base to set it on which is very useful. It has three heat settings and heats up to 400 degree F which exceeds many of the smaller irons. The heat up process is fast, no more than 2 minutes. It has the ability to program 4 preset time and temp settings for frequent uses which is very helpful and saves time when repeating projects. It does have several safety features including an auto off after 11 minutes so keep that in mind. Your project will most likely be done by then but if you are doing multiple projects you may have to reset it. I have had no problems with the prints adhering and the colors seem more vibrant than other irons because it does get hotter. Very happy with this handy little heat press for my small quick jobs and hard to reach areas. ... show more

    • Excellent for That Small Job
This is the perfect press for the small job that you need to do quickly. It heats up in a nice time, and is very convenient. I used it to set stickers and to set a sublimation print. Both turned out very nice. It has several setting to make it more convenient to use. It is also much preferred over a regular iron due to the fact that it was designed as a heat press and comes with many craft-pressing features to make that easily happen. This mini heat press is mighty! The press does a great job of warming up and holding temperature. I love the size – it makes adding small sublimation and thermal decorations, more convenient than a larger press and takes up less room for small projects. Better than pulling out the full size iron! Highly recommend. I find this works better it allows you to really target the area you’re trying to heat press and lessens room for damage.
